Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests - we did. [winks at Dean Wormer] But you can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Greg - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen! [Leads the Deltas out of the hearing, all humming the Star-Spangled Banner]
(One of) my favorite scenes is when they put up Flounder's picture on the projector and they all start booing and throwing stuff at the screen.
Since this movie was a bit before my time, I think I was out of high school before I ever realized that every version I had ever seen was the edited one. One day it happened to be showing on some movie channel and it gets up to the girl slumber party pillowfight scene with Bluto and the ladder. I remember as a young lad just becoming interested in girls seeing this movie and always being disappointed when they cut away from before the girl takes her bra off (standing right in front of Bluto at the window). I figured the tease was part of the joke. So while it was on the movie channel I wasn't paying really close attention until I looked up at the screen and BAM. t***. Holy cow it was a revelation! I immediately DVR'd the next showing so I could see everything I had missed that had been cut out, and it was more than I expected. Still one of my favorite comedies.
Try and guess what I am now.... I.......gave my love a cherry.....that had no bone...... Great movie. What is completely unfair is that one of the other all-time great comedies of the 70s/80s is still not available on DVD: UP THE CREEK!!!! Anyone who grew up in the 80s KNOWS Up the Creek. It had Tim Matheson and Stephen Furst (Flounder) from A.H., and the main guy from Porky's, and a 4th guy who I don't remember. That and D.C. Cab are essential comedies that need to be in DVD. Anyone else remember Up the Creek???
I gaaave my love a storyyyyy...that haaaad nooo end... I gaaaaa....... CRASH!!! CRASH!!! CRASH!!! CRASH!!! CRASH!!! [stunned silence] Spoiler "Sorry."
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part. Bluto: We're just the guys to do it. This and Caddyshack... the cornerstones of any good movie collection!
Jennifer Runyon FTW! guy from Porky's = Dan Monahan and the other guy(you mean Irwin) is Sandy Helberg, he had bit parts in several classics of the era Spaceballs History of the World Pt1 This is Spinal Tap Modern Problems High Anxiety
