KPJ can cut down on his turnovers, but he has improved and outside of the last game has been trending upwards. There are a lot of fans who just don't like him and want the experiment over, some that are way more patient with their favorites.....We all have our favorites.... KPJ is someone I want to see if he can get there....or not. DD
He has been playing the game somewhat different and the offense looks much better in the early stage of the game. It's where he gets on folks nerves in the fourth where he tries to channel his inner harden, and fails miserably. Them turnovers that last game was quite hard to swallow, squander green/bench squad comeback
But that is what happens with young teams. They get pressured and fall back to what is comfortable instead of what is right. DD
KPJ is a 4th year vet, idk if he gets flustered/triggered into doing dumb sht, i don't think he should b the pg. Some folks are just more poised than others I guess. Watching garuba and sengun, those guys play and utilize the fundamentals like vets.
With Green’s 7 assists last night and 6 assists on Saturday, I’m warming to this idea. What continues to be clear to me is that KPJ is better suited at the 2.
So based on the games we've witnessed, he should be the starting point? Is he a smart leader? Make smart decisions with the ball? Get everyone involved? Take care of the ball? Doesn't let emotions take control? )
You know what, I am fine if they want to make Green the PG and KPJ the SG.....at this point, might as well try everything. DD
https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...iddle-of-the-floor-as-pg-or-otherwise.313605/ I feel like I got lambasted when i suggested this last year. Admittedly it was too early...
Green is a better passer than KPJ. Green runs the PnR more effectively than KPJ. Green has an elite elite first step.
That first step is honestly what allows Green to actually make the quick reads rather than just spam dribble for 15 seconds.
KPJ is pretty good at slowing up to generate space. He can usually get a jumper off of that and hits those. However he just can't pass out of that well and always turns it over. I just want them to swap roles. Green is the future. He needs all the usage he can get.
This is the main thing. Green should have the highest usage rate on our team by a good margin. The fact that KPJ has about the same usage rate and dominates the 4Q is as laughable as it is mind-blowing.
I actually want Green to slow down sometimes. He’s always going full speed to the basket which can often be erratic. A hesitation move or change of speed may do wonders for him.
He's doing more of that lately. I'm more referring to breaking down the initial defenders and collapsing the defense.
Honestly, a couple of weeks ago I'd have said no way. But there were times playing the 2 man game with Sengun where I actually thought "ok, they may be on to something here." He seems to have more natural inclinations there than KPJ does, maybe this is something to experiment with. It's hardly going to make us worse, might as well try it to see what happens. Could well be that developing Green as the PG and moving KPJ to the 2 is best for business.
