You mean the Bill Laimbeer that averaged 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 50% shooting in his prime and was an integral part of two championship teams?

I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt, and assume he meant their goon like qualities.

I dont understand. Why does Martin and Jefferson think they're good???? 'Zo is 10 times the player they'll ever be. Joking around is fine but it's not when the guy have had freakin kidney diseases.

Then again, what do you expect from these people anyway? Not everyone is a Yao Ming.

Kenyon Martin is OVERRATED, especially by himself. How can he not realize what Zo has accomplished?

Without Kidd he wouldn't put up half the numbers he does. And wanting a max contract? Makes me want to throw up.

If he has a half a brain he'll stay in the Eastern Conference. He couldn't possibly hang with the big boys in the West night in, night out.

That was really low for Martin. You don't joke about that kind of stuff period. Mourning isn't without fault either. If he wants respect, he should have gone to Dallas, an organization with class, if somewhat a weird team. What was he thinking being a Nets? Doesn't he know that he and Martin would never get along and that there are too many problems with that organization? Bad judgment on his part.

Neither Martin nor Jefferson can hold a candle to the player that Zo once was. There was only center in the league better than Zo at the time of his injury. Zo was an absolute monster on the defensive side of the ball. He used his size as well as anyone I have ever seen. I'd say he was Ben Wallace with an offensive game.

Seriously, I would not be upset in the least if Zo had layed either one of them out. I don't understand why Zo's finishing last in wind sprints would be so surprising, either. He is a 33 year old center coming off a major kidney ailment. What do they expect of him?

Tack on another reason to dislike RJ(Besides the obvious).

what's funny is that even with his kidney condition, i'd still put my money on Zo if he had to fight both of them at the SAME TIME. mourning was a straight up warrior in his charlotte/miami days. martin and jefferson will never be anything without Kidd. they better remember that mourning is their only toughness on the bench

first off zo would beat his ass, kidney ailment or not.

secondly i imagine zo has had more than his share of ribbing and has dished it out as well during normal lockerroom/practice conversation. for him to react like that i assume there was some malice to martin's laughing.

I was expecting the whole nets organization to be treating ZO like Jordan in his return to the L. I mean there are only a few players that have the class and the work ethic of Mourning, and for Mart and Rjeff to crack on him like that... Well it just shows the disrespect of some idiots in the League...

Why is Martin making fun of ZO for not rebounding or doing much. If Mourning would actually get some playing time and get in rythm with teamates he could accomplish something on the court. He's playing like 15 minutes a game, can't do much with that limited time. Martin has always been a B*IOTCH, I thought Jefferson was a classy guy but i guess not.

Seems to me like good fun gone awry. It's ok to make fun of someone as long as they can take it with a sense of humor. In this case, Zo didn't think it was very funny so it exploded.

But one thing about laughter. It is often miscontrued. If you are walking down the street and people behind you are laughing, you often wonder if they are laughing at you. But in most cases they are not.

Yes. Well, I won't say only, but I definitely don't see Mourning being the ass.

RJ and K-Mart, both 20-somethings(Both of whom I think are overrated), rib Alonzo for not being able to run as hard as they can? First, he's 33 years old. Zo was putting up monster numbers for the Hornets/Heat while both were still in high school. Second, he's a big man. K-Mart and RJ are young wing players...if they don't outrun Zo, then there's a huge problem right there. Third, he's coming off a freaking kidney ailment. I don't know if the ailment was ever considered life-threatening, but I know that career-threatening was used to describe it lightly. It's remarkable that he is even back playing. The fact that he is putting up solid role player numbers is even more remarkable.

And Martin is calling a teammout out about rebounding? This is a guy who has never put up rebounding numbers that fit a player of the caliber that he seems to think he is. Didn't he ask for max money recently? Didn't he average like 6 boards a game last year?

I just don't understand why Martin would even begin to compare his sore ankle to Zo's kidney.

    Kenyon Martin:
This is the same idiot who called out and got Keith Van Horn traded for not performing well in the Finals series vs. the Lakers and the very next year stinking it up even worst in game 6 of the finals and this year crying about not getting the max. He wants the max for averaging 15 pts and 7 rebds in his career. ZO's #'s were better than that in his rookie season. If only ZO had that one other star that could help him get over the hump like Shaq has in Kobe. Tim Hardaway was good but he was limited with his knee injuries and age. My advice to Kenyon is to play the game at a higher level instead of cracking on teamates all the time. I guess when you are not as good as you think you are, you crack on others and blame others for your weakenesses.
