One of the best quotes I've seen about Bush (it's my new signature): "Or, as Washington State coach Bill Doba so eloquently puts it: "If you've got a linebacker covering (Bush), you might as well start singing their fight song."
my first post ever thanks to clutch. the texans will make big splashes on offense this year, assuming we pick bush with #1 pick. i was actually hoping to pick up sinorice moss with the second round pick, but moulds is a nice wr too. now we can use the second round pick for defensive/OL players
btw, with all of the signings, does anybody know whay our salery cap is now? and does any other FA are still there to be pursued?
Update from ESPN 790: They said Moulds was here in Houston taking a physical and met w/ the coaches. They had an interview w/ Moulds earlier this afternoon. Moulds said he picked Houston because he will be closer to home. ESPN 790 said the trade won't be officially announced until tomorrow.
this is legit. Now we'll get to see if CARR is legit afterall. Look at these weapons. 1) AJ 2) Moulds 3) Mathis 4) Bush 5) DD 6) Putzier.
Deal is done. No word on what pick has been given to the Bills (4th or 5th). http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2396697
good, I'm glad the Texans didn't give in. Bills finally wised up i guess and realized they were either gonna get a 5th or lose Moulds for nothing.
Now, if David Carr can't put it together this year....he never will. It's also nice to see the Texans get a fiery player like Moulds. This season's going to be very interesting....
what a great offseason the biggest difference wont be any of the free agent picks or Bush but a new coaching system and offensive scheme still not sure about our D though...need to draft a CB in 2/3 round i think
He can have all the weapons in the world, but it's not going to help if he has no time to throw the ball.
Actually, I think it will. Teams won't be able to send blitzes as often now that there are so many weapons to cover on passing plays. Granted, most teams got good pressure on Carr last season even on non-blitz rushes, but I expect that to improve some with new coaching and slightly better talent on the line (Flanagan, McKinney in his natural position, full season of Pitts at LT). But even if they do get pressure, Carr will likely fall back on what he did last season when he didn't have time, and that is to dump off the pass to Dominick 3-4 yards upfield...except now it will be Reggie Bush, and Reggie Bush will be able to do a whole lot more with those short dumps than DD could (or so I predict).
Our defense still sucks but our offense is worth the price of admission. Its going to be a fun team to watch.
I agree the defense needs work especially the pass rush and secondary. Hopefully in the draft somebody like a Tamba Hali or Mathias Kiwanuka drops to the 2nd round. And a Alan Zemaitis, Danieal Manning, or David Pittman drops to the 3rd round.
