Looks like Dmo will be playing for Lithuania this summer. I was hoping to see him in summer league but I guess this will be good as well. One of the reasons I was hoping he would play in the summer league is because of the nba tv access. I'm not sure if they will be airing any of the Eurobasket games. Hopefully they will since the tournament starts in September.

Lithuania landed in a relatively easy group.

Should be good for him if he gets minutes. I feel he is already too good for the summer league, and this level of competition against professional national teams should be good for his development.

Is Finch still coaching Great Britain? If so, would be nice for someone from the staff to be watching him all the time and giving him pointers.

First and foremost, the guy needs to get a lot stronger. I hope he's lifting weights and eating regularly, but I fear Euro teams tend to focus on stamina and endurance. Does anyone know much about the approach Euro teams take to training?

I still don't see him getting minutes next season. He's about 2-3 years away from maybe being a decent role player. Like everyone's said, he needs to bulk up a little, but I'm not counting on it.

Besides, if we get Dwight... he'd have no more motivation. Luckily for him, we're probably not getting Dwight.

I disagree, if we get Dwight he could become a solid role player immediately. He's better on the offensive side than defensive, his offensive skills are the opposite of Dwight's.

A look at his shot chart tells me that he could very easily be one summer away from supplementing his post game with 3pt range.

He does complement Dwight better than any of our other bigs. His passing is also very good when working with Asik, so it can only be better with Dwight.

Don't care for him much, he should've kept his big mouth shut and follow his own advice. Do you remember what he said about Dwight? The guy is all talk and looked like a scared little puppy on the court. He needs to man up, let his game do the talking and start bulking up cause he was getting bullied left and right.

From my impression they are focused on ball movement but I'm not sure if they are all about running and stamina. Main thing is that Dmo needs to put on weight regardless of what his situation is on the national team.

He's not a center and he can play facing the basket so I question whether you have even watched him play to this point.

Dwight would be an ideal partner for Dmo in the frontcourt. Since Dmo can pass, they would likely be able to work some kind of high-low action where it would bring the other team's pf away from the basket when guarding Dmo.

He didn't get very many minutes this past year without Dwight. "If" Dwight chooses HOU , I DON'T see DMo's minutes increasing at all. In fact he might be included in future possible trades. He needs to bulk up a good 25 lbs, and work on his Defense unless he's trying to take on a Matt Bullard type role (3 specialist/no D).....

Again I disagree, this time on the basis that Dmo has absolutely nothing in common with Matt Bullard. Dmo is a quick and agile inside player. Bullard was a 3pt specialist. No comparison whatsoever.

We're expecting too much of him when really all he needs is to put up tons of 3pt shots and add some functional strength this summer. Dwight will always defend the stronger post player, and D-Mo's threat as a post up and face up option could really open things up for Dwight on offense.

If he gets too heavy, he will have no useful skills for the NBA. It just doesn't suit his frame or his game. There are plenty of people who have survived inside without needing to excessively bulk up (KG, Bosh, etc.)

At this point, I think D-Mo has the ability to play like a Chris Bosh. I don't expect him to turn into a Z-Bo type.

True ...I'm just saying from the standpoint that he's a 7 footer with no Defense. He has more offensive skill then Bullard, but I just don't see his minutes increasing until he bulks up and learns to play Defense. If that can happen this offseason then that's the only way I see him getting on the floor more.

You can't even count on him on the offensive side!

I do think DMo could play and get a lot of scoring opportunities playing alongside Dwight, there are just too many other possibilities that would work better. T Jones for example! He can shoot, create off the dribble well for 6"9, play D. His minutes FOR SURE will increase!!

Not sure I'd agree that's it's a relatively easy group. I think Lithuanian's group is tougher than Group A and probably Group C as well.
I'd be fairly surprised if they didn't advance to the second round, but Macedonia (Bo!), Serbia and Montenegro are all fairly good teams.

No. Finch resigned after last year's Olympics.

Good for DMo. It can only help at this point.

As for what DMo needs to improve upon, it's not his post game. It's outside shooting. He could stand to get stronger of course, but he'll never be a bruiser. He needs to develop a much better outside shot, and then add the post game.

I think this would be easier to do and would get him court time the quickest. If at the power forward he could shoot around 40% from 3, he'd be a huge asset, and would of course make things easier for penetration and inside scoring.

Glad to hear he's going to play. Hope he gets a chance to have a large role on that team. I know in the past, the Lithuanian national team plays the old vets over the young guys like D-Mo, but maybe this year he get a taste of what it feels like to earn a staring role.

Im still extremely high on this guy, and think he can be a future stud on the Rockets.

    -7 footer
    -highly skilled in the post
    -range
    -ridiculous work ethic

I just dont see how this guy, and the Rockets could allow him to fail.

Nnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooo!1!!! They're going to play him too hard and he'll be too worn out or injured to win games for the Rockets and our title hopes will be ruined!

Well, somebody had to do it.
