Yes, he can block an occassional shot below the rim, or just at it.....thanks for proving my point. DD
The biggest reason Donatas saw his stock drop is that his team at the time decided to use him on the perimeter as a glorified jump shooter. The perception became that he refused to play inside and was too slow to play the perimeter.
Well from looking at the top of this years class, I'll buy D-Mo being a top 5 pick. Lets look at Harrison Barnes for example. The guy is projected around the 4th - 6th pick range. But In my opinion he isn't as good of a prospect as D-Mo. The reason I don't consider him (Harrison Barnes) as good of a prospect as D-Mo is because he struggles to create his own shot, is fairly average athlete, and a pretty average defender. Besides his shooting, there's really nothing about Barnes that makes him that much of an interesting prospect. I don't think its far fetched to call D-Mo -with his passing ability, 7'1 frame, footwork and overall skill set - a better prospect then Barnes. Who again is considered a top 6th pick. Saying that D-Mo would be a one the top picks in this year's draft isn't as far fetched as some people think.
Yep. He could make the top 5. In a couple of years he will be a match up nightmare for the other team. Just who the heck can guard a 7 footer with that diverse of a skill set? Not to mention quickness. I foresee many sleepless nights for coaches trying to scheme for him. And the guy has serious ambition and a work ethic to match.
At this point in time, I can't believe you people are still bad-mouthing Hill. He pissed in your cereal, or what? Oh, yeah. We have PPatt. That's why you feel so confident.
Seems like it had to do with playing time, and his development if he was just riding the bench. I think the olympics would have been a great experience and something for him to be proud of, but if he has good word that the coach still prefers to play the vets over him then its probably for the best. There will be other olympics sure, but still wish we could have seen him actually play in them. Something that probably was not going to happen either way.
D-Mo is in Treviso at the Eurocamp. Sitting next to McHale and Gersson Rosas here. That guy in the white polo shirt is Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor, who seems to be chatting with what could be former Real Madrid coach and currently Lakers assistant Ettore Messina, though I not totally sure.
There is always 2016. From what I have read he does not feel that he would have had a fair shot at PT. Let's see - training with the Lithuanian Olympics squad and riding the pine or joining the Rockets for training and summer league play. I believe that being over here is much better for both D-Mo and the Rockets. And hopefully by the next Olympics a starting role on his NT won't be in question.
LOL Carl. You and those gator arms. And by the way I have played on deep South golf courses where you get a free drop if your ball is within 6 feet of a 6 footer.
