Dude! I was thinking the same think. It just seems like a good 1-2 punch. We might be on to something.
We have a Lithuanian down here. Donatas is a guy who does not care much, that's the biggest problem (not sure how he feels right now, but he certainly didn't last year, since I haven't seen many interviews with him) He has all the tools in the world to be a SUPERB player, his offensive game will be great for a rookie, and as many others said, he has improved drastically in areas many thought he was weaker. What's working for Motiejunas is that McHale is his coach. Luckily for us and you, Rockets fans, Olympics are coming soon (Lithuanians aren't in yet, but they are favorites to get in), THAT is when we'll see Donatas play with solid team around him (Asseco Prokom are trash). He will be the player to watch from Europe next year, not Valanciunas
Speaking of Valanciunas. I haven't heard anything about him all season. Where is he? What is he doing?
Well you'll be waiting in vain. They will never be matched up against each other. Howard would kill Motiejunas on the block and Motiejunas would kill Howard from the perimeter.

He is playing and doing it fairly well. Still somewhat buckles under the pressure and needs to add weight. I'm saying that Motiejunas should have a bigger impact on a team than Valanciunas, either positive or negative.
Also, in case you didn't know, Lithuanian National Team will be preparing for Olympics in Houston, so expect to see a lot of coverage about Motiejunas.
Probably the Arturas Karnisova (Rockets international scout) connection. They'll also play a exhibition game against Great Britain, who's coach of course is none other than Rockets assistant coach Chris Finch. Great Britain reportedly will also hold their training camp in Houston.
i thought no nba players or any type of basketball related persons would ever step foot in houston? according to the theories of some on why we can't get good players... it should be cool to have 2 international teams training in H-town..
No, the general consensus is that the big name players will not sign here as free agents, because we don't have another superstar to pair him with, and we're not New York or LA.
Prokom team lost their 3rd playoff game. Still lead 2-1. Didn't watch the game, but looks like D-Mo didn't play too well (10 points on 11 FGA, 5 rebs & 2 assists in 26 minutes). http://www.plk.pl/pl/11,mecze/8349,AZS-Koszalin-Asseco-Prokom-Gdynia.html Offensively his feel for the game is quite good. Defensively I'd like to believe that his instincts have improved, but there's still lots of upside left. He's no Jordan Hill though. That's for sure.
