Agreed. If MoT can't play because of the flu, there is no reason to keep him around the team for them to catch it.

Plus, MoT's value is at an all time low (again). I doubt CD is finding any takers for him.

thats makes sense. Besides why would a team trade for him when he is on the IL. makes no sense.

Well, I think the thinking is that either they would be close to finalizing a deal or waiting on some deadline to make one, so they put him on the IR to make sure he doesn't get hurt and ruin it.

Motay + Tmac to Toronto for Jalen Rose and Marshal.

    Trade accepted.

Carroll Dawson wins GM of the year 2004/05.

there is probably not a trade for mo in sight. spoon can be traded this summer since he is entering his final year. mo will have to wait till the summer after that when he enters his final contract year.

we may not answer our PF situation anytime soon (except thrue the draft and maybe the badman!) but what we can work on improving is our PG spot.

In case you missed it, Doc Rocket posted the following in a thread yesterday which was subsequently locked:

"I do know this - several weeks ago, Mo and coach had a HUGE fight and JVG was pissed. Mo is on island with this club but JVG does indeed use the IR as a disciplinary tool (see - Boki Nachbar)
and as a reward (See - Ryan Bowen).

I know that MO T andJVG are at odds but I can't confirm the IR story to be true....

....yet. But I believe it's a valid rumor."

p.s. I'm not mentioning any rumor from another bbs :)

Mo is an offense first kind of PF - I think that the Nets would really benefit from having him, but they are afraid of his contract.

... consequently, I believe he is useless to the Rockets and will linger on the IR all season (if JVG puts people there on purpose)

Being on an island and being traded are two disparate things -- Mo may have some talent, good 6th man scoring, effective offensive player but -- I can think of 27million reasons he is likely to remain a Rock (unless DA is jettisoned?).

I think alot of teams could use a scoring PF especially in the East.

NJ Nets - need a low post player but I cant think of one player on their roster I would want.

Celtics / Atlanta / Sonics / Bucks / Hornets (PJ is getting old) / Warriors / Lakers

all of these teams could use some low post scoring help.. for some reason MoT doesnt seem to be as effective this year and he was coming off the bench for us last year.

hopefully a change of pace (new environment would do wonders for him)..

If he gets the minutes and picks up his rebounding numbers he could possibly be an all star in the East.

there really is a shortage of big men ..

MoT's "flu" has now infected his feet:

    http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/3012968

    Change of malady

With Maurice Taylor eligible and expecting to come off the injured list Thursday, the Rockets changed his malady but not his status.

After more than a week on the injured list with the flu, the Rockets did not activate him as he assumed they would, instead reporting that he had developed plantar fasciaitis.

Though the Rockets changed the injury, the five games he already spent on the injured list make him eligible to be moved to the active roster at any time.

But Wednesday, Taylor said he expected to return to the active roster and his place in the rotation.

"I don't see why they would keep me on (the injured list)," Taylor said. "I think they definitely will activate me. I don't see why I wouldn't just go back to doing what I was doing. I don't think because I got sick would change anything."

Taylor had been ruled out for at least three games because of the flu, with the Rockets opting to move Clarence Weatherspoon to the active roster rather than go short-handed for at least three games. Taylor said he was not at full strength until Wednesday.

"I was shocked," Taylor said. "I was done (after practice Tuesday). I went home and all I could do was sleep.

"I didn't have any energy. I don't think I felt 100 percent, OK, normal until (Wednesday)."

i cant wait until JVG gets the boot. thats unreal -- to be paying a guy $9 million (?) a year only to have him sit on the injured list because of some personality conflict between him and the coach. while he isnt doing that great this year, he still can be a productive guy off the bench.

Wow... Told you guys that was all B.S... I'm sure he was feeling under the weather at one time, but c'com, over a week on the IR for it? And now the most common excuse for sitting on the IR next to tendonitis??? Amazing... I'm sure all coaches at one time or another have used the IR as a disciplinary tool, so Doc Roc really hasn't told us anything out of the ordinary there... Mo's going down the same path as Boki, cept that he has a $27M price tag. We need help at the 4 and we need it now if Mo's gonna rot on the bench/IR all damn season after missing an entire season a while back with a ruptured achilles (pickup game with his homies)!!! Just get him the f*** outta here then or let him play Front Office... Wake me up when this B.S. is over...

If you have a binch of lazy a$$ spoiled millionaires, how are you going to get them to do anything if you don't have something you can do to them?

Like it or not, JVG is the boss. If my boss came into my office and said, "here's how we're going to do this," and I go out and ignore him, time and time again, I wouldn't have the luxury of still collecting a paycheck.

I have seen Mo blow defensive assignment after defensive assignment, sometimes at critical points of the game. Do you think he should get to lose the games for us just because somebody overvalued him years ago? I don't.
