I was talking about it on Thursday night with some friends. Lo and behold, it came on Cinemax this weekend. It's sitting on my DVR.

Man on Fire was a very underrated movie that I saw on cable about a year ago and couldn't believe it wasn't more popular.

freaks like me are saying it's analagous to the argument made by some about Jordan. that he ends up being the most underrated because he's so great. i'm not adopting the argument for MJ, let me be clear! :)

but i just think die hard is so far and away the best action movie that it's really not even close...and is underrated as a movie, generally, because of the fact it's an action movie.

I loved Equilibrium, and I think it's pretty apparent that anyone that doesn't is impotent and probably a communist.

'Man On Fire' gets a vote, if for no other reason than the gratuitous usage of nine inch nails on the soundtrack. The scene in the film with 'the mark has been made' gave me chills. But, as an added bonus, you get to see Denzel on a cold-blooded killing rampage. Loved it.

well generally someone views something as underrated if their immediate circle of friends don't like the movie. :)

    Probably so. Effin Commies.

Equilibrium, was good in theory. The execution the movie just sucked. I mean It was Fahrenheit 451 with matrix-esque type direction and it just came to be a poser. The choregraphy from the first scene was a complete and utter arrogant show off of how COOL the Cleric was. It was pompous and aggravating how seriously the director thought of his own style. On top of that, how unfreakin believable was the climax. What a joke.

Although the style of suits they were wearing were pretty neat.

That element was pretty heavy-handed and simplistic, but Shyamalan sure knows how to build tension. It's a good film.
