Brooks, Battier, and Scola are all overrated. Landry is just flat out misrated. He's not a good defender and a bit better offensively than for what he is given credit. Hayes was the most underrated player in the league. Now he's just underrated. In the past, people didn't even notice or mention his defensive abilities. Now, they just (almost begrudgingly out of some duty) describe him as a good, "tough" defender. In actuality, he's one of the 3 or 4 best defenders in basketball. Yao was overrated in the past, but now he is probably correctly rated. Tracy is also probably correctly rated. Kyle Lowry is very underrated.
Ariza by far. He got paid on a few playoff games. He better come in and earn it or we're hamstrung for the next several years when we could have kept Ron for fewer years.
No one on this roster is overrated. The definition of overrated, when it comes to the NBA, is: 1. Really high 1st round pick, who turns out to be a bust 2. Someone who is paid WAY more then they should be. 3. Someone who's hype exceeds their play, tenfold, but gets injured all the time. Right now, no one on this roster fits into either category. Therefore, no one is overrated.
Scola? How do you figure? The guy is a major hustler, can take over stretches of games. His only weakness is his defense, which no one overrates.
I don't think anyone overrates Scola. People are mistakening appreciation for a player and what he brings with overrating him. Most people know he is a crafty scorer and hustler with limited athletic abilities and average defense.
I picked Lowry. It seems like on this board a lot of people are thinking he is so much better than Brooks, and right now I think he is a solid backup, but not quite starter material. If you're talking about the entire media, though, no one is overrated. The media thinks the whole team is crummy and will end up near the bottom of the western conference. Hayes has to be most underrated by the media still because they look at his height and think that he is not that useful.
I can't believe anyone in their right mind would have even put Scola on the list. He's one of the best values in the league. You can't be a good value and overrated.
His salary was set over two years ago. What does that have to do with whether he's overrated right now?
