you are absolutely right!!!! honestly, many will disagree but 30 to 50 percent of Lebron is the media. Its amazing how much they ride this guy. He's good, an all-star, but in my opinion he isn't a great. Technically, Carmelo has acheived more in terms of victories, for if Nuggets were in East all those years, they would've also reached finals. So lebron holds all the overrated categories. i mean what else is there?
edit: 1. Overrated Finalist 2. Overrated Dunk: the dunk against the celtics is so overrated, we all know but it still ends up on every commercial 3. Overrated Buzzer Beater: I mean his only buzzer beater was nice and everything but cmon we know Allen who hit like 5 buzzer beaters and Kobes buzzer beaters the same playoff race its amazing how in every amazing commercial lebron's buzzer beater is always the last one! wtf!!!!!! i mean what else is there now?
When the Rockets beat the lakers early this season, NBA Channel or ESPN refused to admit how good these rockets are and how competitive we are. Instead they gave excuses like Kobe was injured blah blah blah. What do you think of that? You whined about the media attention Lebron James is getting, why don't you whine about the same attention the Lakers are getting?
no, it was the Celts of the year before. the Celts struggled against both Atl and Cav, eeking out 7-game series. and they faced the Lakers team minus the starting center and Arizza. and it took them 6 games to beat a crippled Lakers team.
Let's not forget that the Magic were missing all-star pg Jameer Nelson and the fact that his replacement was Rafer Alston.
Kobe is the chinese guy's american daddy. What do you expect from him. He can bash T-Mac, LBJ or even MJ, but that won't make the cheap-shots-throwing rapist look any better.
The worst, most overrated NBA Finalist ever was a tie. the 02 Nets and the 03 Nets. Both Nets teams would not have gotten out of the first round in the West.
LBJ is overall as good as MJ in his prime right now, at only 24 years old. MJ's still the better closer, but in terms of overall impact in a game he's pretty darn close. The Cavs are one of the worst built teams in the league, take LBJ out of it they're guaranteed lottery. And yet with LBJ, they're seen as darkhorse contenders. I haven't seen dominance like since KG's heydays in Minny. Take it from the wizard himself: "LBJ is the absolute best player in the league, by a wide margin" -Daryl Morey
Same could be said of the Cavs in '07. The teams from the west were very battle tested and ready. They all had to go thru some tough teams to get to the Finals. And it wasnt a cakewalk to the WCF either. Weakest western teams were probably last years Lakers though. Maybe the '06 Mavs but that was more of a chokejob than not being a good team.
09 Lakers beat Cavs and Celtics 2-0 in regular season, with Bynum down and Cavs/Celtics no significant injury. The same squad easily got past the defending Spurs the year before. They beat a 60+ wins Magic from east. How many times a 60 wins team came out of east or having one to begin with in the decade?
Gah, said last years Lakers, meant the year before, that lost to Boston. But anyhoo its obvious the west was better going 7-3 in the Finals this decade. I think its not too farfetched to think the western conference runner up would have done just as well(at least 5-5). While the east runner up would have probably gone 0 fer 10.
