Overrated: Kobe (he is not the best player in the game today, MJ would be going for back 2 back with Kobe's team) Never forget that crap, because Laker fans will come out full force if Kobe wins his first ring, not riding the back of Shaq that is. Underrated: Richard Jefferson
who over-rated him ? the Lakers Brass expected him to be the 3rd option behind Kobe and Gasol, and be a shot blocker and rebounder. As did the Lakers fans.
no, ur wrong. MJ has proven that he can't win a ring without Scottie Pippen on the team. Scottie Pippen is not on the Lakers team. it can be argued that it was the other way around, Shaq was riding on Kobe's back ---- in particular in the closing minutes of each quarter.
Pierce was far from a scrub without Ray Allen and KG. Get real. I guess they were scrubs without him too, since we are going by your logic.
I'm sorry, but dwight is not overrated. He is like 21years old and already had several 20+ points and 20+ rebs games. Also he impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He deserves all the hype he gets. When Lebron first game into the league people would say he is overrated and there is too much hype around him...well I think everybody agrees now that he has lived up to his hype. Expect the same from dwight, because he will only get better.
LOL, He's 23 for one, and Watch Dwight play against the Rockets. Dwight has not done anything special especially against the Craptors.
Underrated: Zydrunas Ilgauskas. The most unathletic, slow, non-jumping player in the league but he still manages to get his. One of the best big man shooters in the league and real tricky in the post. Overrated: Lamar Odom. I'm a Laker fan and everytime there's a national game on TV the announcers always go goo-goo over this guy but he's just not a consistent threat. However when he's good, he's damn good.
How the hell is Dwight Howard overrated? A majority of NBA teams would LOVE to have him. He puts up great numbers. I think you guys are confusing Yao>Dwight with is Dwight Howard overrated? Just because he has no jump shot doesn't mean he's overrated, just not as good as Yao. Overrated - Rajon Rondo (Wow... Talk about overhyped, feeds off of big 3, numbers not THAT impressive (similar to last season) like ESPN makes it seem) Underrated - John Salmons, Vince Carter (gets no love at all since trade to New Jersey)
The ppg and FG% are about the same, but I wouldn't say his numbers are similar. He's increased his assists and steals by a lot and he's getting to the free throw line more often (and shoot a bit better from there, too). His PER has gone from 15.6 (solid starter) to 19.9 (all-star level).
I think the media recognizes the potential for Rondo. If his jumper gets a little better then he will be a lot better, but as a Kentucky fan I agree playing with the Big 3 has helped him a lot. I don't see him leading a team like New Orleans like CP3 has done. But since you brought up the Big 3 thing, I think Kendrick Perkins is overrated also. Dude should of went to college and was headed towards bust status until the big 3 came. He's lucky that offseason bringing in KG and Ray Allen went like it did. I agree with John Salmons being underrated, he hasn't gotten any spotlight because he's been playing on teams that aren't that good.
Overrated KG - Don't get me started. Marion - Priciest garbageman imaginable. Claims he wants to be "The Man" somewhere yet is starting to look washed up. Give me a break. Rondo - Not a bad player but this All-Star crap is getting out of hand. Are the Eastern Conference PG's really that bad that a 10 PPG player really deserves to make it? I don't think so -- list LeBron, Wade, JJ or somebody like that as your starter and pick somebody else more deserving. Jermaine O'Neal - Pretty much self-explanatory. 1st Team All-NBA salary yet he's never averaged over 21 PPG in a full season. Plus, he's looking pretty washed up these days. Baron Davis - Doesn't care enough or possess the "killer instinct" mentality necessary to lead his team to great places. Everybody knows he can play when he wants to. That's still not good enough, though. Underrated Joe Johnson - Hands down, the most underrated star in the league. He does everything for the Hawks and carries them on a nightly basis. The Hawks wouldn't win a game without him -- there are maybe three other stars in the league you can say that about. Dirk - Talk about a strange transformation. I used to think he was overrated until now since everybody seems to hate on him yet he's still one of the best players in the league. He's consistent, he's clutch and he's undoubtedly one of the most unique talents of this generation. Devin Harris - One of the toughest individual match ups in the league. He's leading the NBA in FT's made, improved his long range shooting and still looks to have upside. Pretty scary player despite the blood-bursting flopping. Al Jefferson - Probably the best 20/10 player you never hear anything about on ESPN. Very skilled and crafty player -- somebody who could still be a star in the league even if he wasn't a monster athlete which is more than you can say about Dwight Howard. Hakim Warrick - Quietly becoming one of the better 6th men in the league. He's dramatically improved his post-game, footwork and overall scoring ability. He's so quick and such a monster athlete that when you mix his improved post-game with his athletic ability he becomes VERY difficult to defend. James Posey - Versatile, do-it-all type of wing that coincidentally happens to win championships wherever he goes. Hmmm....? Travis Outlaw - Somebody I have coveted for well over three years now.
No he is overrated, Idiots like Stephen A. Smith have not only said he's the best center, but the best big man in the game. That is just beyond r****ded. He is completely overrated by everybody in the league, Only a few don't overrate him, many do though. That's makes him the best overrated. Do any of you honestly think Dwight is better than Duncan?
