    Great call. Probably known best for his more unusual songs like Werewolves of London, Roland the Headless Thomson Gunner, and Send Lawyers, Guns and Money (my favorite... though my other favorite, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead is a personal motto) but he also wrote and performed more traditional and even sensitive songs like Accidentally Like a Martyr, Mohamed's Radio and Poor Poor Pitiful Me.

    I know David Letterman was both a big fan and friend to Warren Zevon (Letterman once had him as the only guest of one show).

    Is it possible that folks don't think he's a neglected song writer? I think Smokey Robinson is well respected in the art of songwriting, thus he wouldn't qualify for this thread.
    Kind of like saying...no one has heard of Bob Dylan?

    Neglected by who? He is "Motown" and has had a direct and indirect influence on countless artists both past and present.
