Agreed. Stone has no reason to make people think that the Rockets are all in to contend for a championship THIS YEAR. The likelihood of failure is very high. Rather, if we do well with this current group in the playoffs, he (and Udoka) will get all the credit for the sooner than expected success. If we don't do well, then it's just a "learning experience" for the young players. There's no fire under his seat at all.
He secretly extended his contract while some people thought that possible mistakes would shake his seat...... His job is secured. And Tilman really likes him to be his Yes Gm.
Unless he shakes it off, the phone(s) are calling for Cam. Ime is still curating...Reminds me of Adelman's affinity and success with rescuing dependable players from bad homes. Brooklyn is still fond of us, same for the windy City and those unsteady boys in the 313. The Rockets look pretty good this year! Wish you well.
Nets, Chicago, and Detroit all want Cam.. Makes sense, they all could use a dynamic scorer. Do they have anything we want though?
So, some guesses based on what works in the trade machine. Not trying to make any draft capital predictions: Brooks and Cam for Cam Johnson. FVV and Cam for LaVine Cam + filler for Ausar (unlikely in my opinion) Cam + Jock for Isaiah Stewart
I don't want Cam dealt unless he's packaged in a deal for the right star. Dude's got the goods....patience. As to Tari, I'd move him for value due to likely not being able to stay healthy. Good to see you, Cod!
Which Detroit one - Ausar or Stewart? I like the idea of trading Cam towards Cam J. Cam Johnson would really round out this team.
