First title that came to my mind. "Can you see me, can you hear me? Okay for work..." I felt like I needed a shower after that movie. Just...wow. *shudder* Good one! That movie sneaks up on you. Seems like your basic schlock sci-fi, but turns really dark and disturbing almost immediately.
serious question: have you seen Sophie's Choice, or are you just saying this because of what you have heard that it's about? i ask because i watched it a few months ago for the first time ever, and thought it was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. i assumed, much like any other person who has heard about it but never seen it probably does, that it was a holocaust movie about meryl streep being forced by the nazis to keep one of her kids. what i didn't know, is the "choice" part of it was a minute long, not-so-emotional scene told in a flashback, which didn't even have a ton of significance to the movie, which was about the relationship that develops when a writer moves into a brooklyn duplex next door to meryl streep and her nutty lover. was boring as hell, and i can't believe meryl streep got an award for that awful polish accent that she butchered for 2+ hours. anyway, rant over, but curious to know if you have seen the movie.
I'm surprised someone listed this one.. This is pretty intense. It seems like a borderline aimless shooting spree movie but I was pleasantly surprised how it wrapped up... Just whatever you do - DONT - read up on who directed it. Other intense cinemas: I'll list more as they come to me
I saw it years ago and for the most part, my post was tongue in cheek. That being said, I think that looking at the 'choice' in retrospect (not while one is actually watching the move) is what gives it intensity. For a really boring movie, watch The Horse Whisperer.
