Gathering info from this and his speech at the last game of the season, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say Brooks isn't much of a public speaker.
no joke man. this wasn't "hakeem hall of fame induction speech bad", but pretty damn bad. maybe he was just nervous, but he didn't sound as intelligent as i thought he was. kept focusing on how it's been a tough season for the rockets...lighten the mood a little, aaron. it's about you winning the most improved player award. no need to focus on anything negative. anyway, congrats on the award. well deserved.
No surprising his speech wasn't so great. The first year or two, he wasn't a great interview either; Jonathan Feigen said Brooks also wins the Most Improved Interview award, too. I would imagine he's still unfamiliar with NATIONAL spotlight compared to local spotlight.
I didn't see the video, so will someone tell me... Did he wear that suit he wore during the Lakers series? The one with the big red bow tie?

its been anounced that tha 'diminutive guard' (as the lame espn analyst put it) AB has won it that was a big surprise Durant was tied for 2nd.. SERIOUSLY? hes a former #2 pick this is expected of him doesnt make sense hes in the running
He was just nervous and isn't use to that big a platform, but I don't know what you guys are talking about saying Brooks is a bad interview. It's obvious you guys never watch the post game interviews because there he always gives good (standard quality) post game interviews and appears much more comfortable.
