it funny cause some of these songs listed were late '90s (Scar Tissue was '98)

we migh as well make a list one song from each of the 10 years, but the question is, should it be 2000-2009 or 2001-2010?

why do you say that? I think they made quite an impact on modern music by creating their signature rap/rock hybrid. Excellent meaningful lyrics and good utilization of various instruments makes their music great in my opinion. Hybrid theory is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Remember we're talking 2000's. aka death of rap and the morphing of rock into this abortion of a genre we currently have. It's sad that lollipop remix made it to my list as the most iconic of this decade, but a semi-catchy hook + good beat is pretty much all you can wish for from modern day mainstream rap.

The underground lives forever though. But if I post a Jedi Mind Tricks' "On the Eve of war" I will be ridiculed as very few would recognize it.

Here's Billboard's Top 100 of the decade (2000-09). That list depressed me, so I took out all the songs that Billboard users didn't give a 75% favorable rating to. The new list, which requires you to go to #40 to get 10 songs:
