Bullcrap. You should only be satisfied with a World Series championship. That's why Jeff Bagwell is a loser.

Again, there is no way the colors/logo/name would have been retained, even if they were available. The city wanted NO part of the Oiler name/tradition. They wanted something new.

Speak for yourself! The only thing I wanted "new" was a new owner.

Seriously, the columbia blues with the oil derricks on the side of the head are still my favorite NFL unis ever. It's like losing your pet dog that you had for sixteen years as a kid. I can love the next dog, but it'll never be the first one.

The game is on right now on ESPN 2. Every time i see a replay, I watch a couple of minutes into the 2nd half, and then change the channel. Who says you can't have selective memory?

I don't care if Leinart, Young and Bush combine to win every SuperBowl for the rest of their careers!!!! Anyone over 13 who doesn't think that the Buffalo game was worse needs to be banned from this board and deported to someplace outside of Houston immediately.

outside of Houston? you mean Sugarland or Katy or the Woodlands?
    hahaha

the Texans have the potential to be the Detroit Lions (post Barry) and the Arizona Cardinals.

At least the Oilers made it to the playoffs regardless of how ugly the games were. the Texans could be scrubs for along time if the management is this dumb.

Analyzing all these different POVs posted on here, the answer is simple somewhere between throw the Texans organization under the bus and swolys "everything is beautiful" ... lets all hold hands and sing "kumbaya!" :D

Look, the deal is this, Houston fans ARE passionate about football, Swoly. That's why they're SO pissed! Passion is good, it's essential for developing a fan base. For instance, I AM a Texans fan but, I am anything BUT happy with my team.

Watching Sunday's game at Reliant Stadium especially the brutal ending, honestly made me want to vomit. Watching VY do the redneck stomp in the endzone with his new teammates both angered and frustrated me because the shoe could have been on the other foot. That being said, I believe the organization was trying to improve a deficiency on the DL by getting Williams but, the labels now ensue possibly even if MW become Bruce Smith, Lawrence Taylor or Derrick Thomas plus, a future HOF'er, VY will be immortalized, and potentially the standard, the icon that future NFL stars will be measured by. In other words, perhaps "greatest ever!"

I know it's early but, it's not that he is winning games, it's how he's winning the games. Potentially, he has not even begun to scratch the top layer of his talent much less the surface of his ability and what he can develop into.

Ultimately for me Swoly and most Texan fans it's this, I am TIRED of pathetic sorry-assed excuse for football being played in my town! Hell, alot of our local HS football teams can play better right now than our so-called Pros. I'm tired of excuses, and I'm tired of now ongoing 5 straight losing seasons. This is BULLS**T!!! Look, let the Cardinals, be the Crapholes, let the Lions, be the kitties, and let the Raiders be a joke. It's time for this DAMN franchise to forge a new road. One that will be a much needed catharsis to the suffering and beating that the Texans fans have had to deal with.

That being said, I am encouraged that we at least have a group that knows how to draft and look for talent. If possible, we need to start with AP. DD can be our changeup and third down scatback on occasions. Then, draft OL, LB (Pozluzny) or DL. Then, draft Kolb, that may help repair relations between the organization and the fans. FA's get Nate Clements and Adalius Thomas. That ALL would be a good start to bringing us to respectability.

    By far ...the Buffalo game.

It and a spot in the Super Bowl was ours...Pardee and Eddy refused to adjust the defense accordingly.

Frank Reich looked like Joe Montana.

Speaking of which,it was almost like a replay of the UH - Notre Dame Cotton Bowl.

To make things worse,I had $500 on the Oilers +3 and later that week had Meldrick Taylor for another 500 when he was robbed against Chavez in S.A.
    2 pushes....

Worst heartbreak I've felt at any sporting event besides the Coogs losing the title to NC State.
