Considering the fact that you have all these people who live in Houston rooting for the Titans against the hometown team, nothing will surprise me. They deserve to have the Buffalo game happen. Our city's football fans suck major ass.

its still hard to consider the texans a REAL FOOTBALL TEAM. they've been a joke. the oilers were in everyone's heart. people still love the oilers....i think more ppl care about the oilers than they do the texans

Everyone loves the Oilers again now that they are winning. Where were you when they were sucking the past few years? When the Texans start winning the fans will be back. Just like with the Rockets and Astros.

    BINGO
The Oilers EARNED our respect. They DRAFTED EARL CAMBELL! Win lose or draw, we like our own boys from our state and our hood. especially if they are REALLY GOOD.

make sure you buy a Nintendo WII so you can make David Carr throw the ball in pressure situations.

    what?? come on.

this city sold out game after game for the Oilers. 8 straight seasons at 110% capacity. which is why they wanted a new stadium, to begin with.

the texans have sold out every game for a team with no identity and no history in this city. they've been a colossal failure on the field.

and you wanna blame the fans???

i love you like a brother, but i can't let you call out houston football fans! :) you just see the texans as clearly houston's team. i think others, like me, are telling you it takes time to earn that, in its truest sense.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted Bush. And now it looks like both Young and ML would have been better picks than Mario. But we're just getting started, let's not crown those guys yet.

It's not the end of the world. Fortunes can change. Remember the Rockets passing up on Rashard Lewis then making a horrible trade for Eddie Griffin? Well at least we ended up with Yao Ming a a year later.

Did they win our respect by choking over and over? You don't realize that those chokes were worse than yesterday's game. I remember the Denver/Buffalo/Montana games like they were yesterday. But I stuck with the Oilers then and I'll stick with Texans now.

If we had a chance to draft John Elway or Joe Montana
    AND
they beat us dramatically, how bad would that be?

If Joe Montana said 'The Oilers, Houston, Frenchy's fried chicken, I want to be there, draft me guys' and you dont.

But VY isn't Elway or Montana yet and may never be. So those chokes are still far more humiliating.

I'm not blaming the fans for the failures of the Texans franchise. I'm not blaming the fans for being upset at the decisions made in their five years. I'm blaming the "fans" of the Texans for abandoning them. If you don't feel a connection to them right now that's fine. But there's no way I'm not going to call people out for rooting against them. Especially when the Texans are good and all those idiots wearing Titans gear yesterday will be back wearing their Texans jerseys.

Come on! Are we forgetting about UH going 0-11 in 2001 and losing by an average of 22 points per game? That was a whole season's worth of humiliation...

We didn't abandon them if we never were deeply connected with them in the first place.

Unless you are 10 years old, there is no way in hell you have a deeply rooted attachment to the Houston Texans. Period.

All your whining about "true fan" this and "true fan" that is juvenile. Forgive us for wanting our team to care about its fans. You can continue to let the Front Office do whatever it wants because they brought us a football team and we should be praising their name.

This team didn't come free. My family has tailgated at 5 games per year for the past couple of years. Every one of them had a VY jersey on at the game yesterday. Most of them didn't even goto UT. They want management to know that you can't just flip the bird to your fans and expect them to follow blindly.

    What about Rice from 1900-present?

This is a bad day to bring up Buffalo.

On top of that, I don't want to deal with your randomness on the topic, tinman. Sometimes it's fun...not with this though. I will simply disagree on Leinart being clutch. Wait and see if he's that in the NFL..

So these fans have no connection to the Texans but all of a sudden they have an amzing connection with VY? Truth is they got the VY jersey because the Titans have been winning. If the Texans had been winning they would have flipped.

The Buffalo game by far. But I do have to say this. With football being gone from Houston for so long and with the team not having many meaningful games since starting up. I can say I haven't felt this type of disappointment over a lose prolly since that Buffalo game.

    Psst.
Vince played in some highschool championship here in Houston and lots of Houstonians went to college in Austin.
