Everyone on that board seems 100% sure that Yao will leave Rox in 2 years. :D

If he does, it won't be for LA.

I'd put my money on NY.

The best part is how they have just SHREDDED Shaq saying he is past his prime, they can't win anything with him and haven't for the last 2 years, he has to go he can't carry them to a championship because his money prevents them from getting the proper roleplayers. Then they turn around and say the deal would be "logical" for the Rockets because it would instantly make them title contenders even though it would do the SAME thing to the Rockets! Best part is how they have said that Yao is overrated and will not be a championship caliber center, and how for the last few years that McGrady is nowhere near Kobe's level and comparing him to Kobe is silly, now they claim McGrady could win a title with Shaq because Kobe won one with him and they're drooling over Yao. Funny how you can twist things when you see a deal you want!

And the best part is how they claim Yao will leave in 2 years though he's undercontract for like 3 years, how China wants Yao in a big market like LA or NY, though it doesn't explain why they didn't pressure the Rocks to pass on Yao so that he could go to Chicago. And, best of all, they claim that Yao doesn't want to sign an extension to play in Houston and the Rockets have to get rid of him yet the Rockets went to him to see if he was ok with getting Tracy McGrady. But then, they thought the NBA fixed the Finals so that Detroit would win so what can you do!

I'm putting my money on Yao staying put. He will get the most money with the Rockets and Yao doesn't strike me as someone who cares about media attention.

seriously laker fans are very stupid thinking that houston will just let Yao walk in two years, in fact even though its pointed out he still has 3 years on his contact they still think that in two years he will walk out and LA will be the only place that can be able to court him it would be "illegal" in their eyes for any team, even the Rockets, to try to (re)sign Yao. Just because you've gotten you're other big men through FA and lopsided trades doesnt mean its going to happen every single freakin time.

As for the Kobe-T-mac thing, i really do think Kobe's ego is probably the biggest in the league just a tad bigger than shaqs. T-mac has fed up trying to be "the man" and is humble enough to admit he needs another guy, a big guy, because he wants to win. kobe pretty much froze out the most dominant player in the league today, drove out a above average, but very successful coach in jackson in one year. and all while flying back and forth from colorodo! The only thing that makes Kobe better is his defense i dont think just because he has the rings he is better, hell give t-mac the teams Kobe had during the championship runs and i am sure mac would have just as many if not more rings. Defense can be worked on for T-mac and JVG is the perfect coach to do it I do tihnk T-Mac has had the desire to win but there is that old adage of 'winning makes everything go away while losing just makes things worse' i am sure as the past few seasons were winding, especially last season mcgrady just lost hope because he knew realistically there'd be no way he could win with the magic. he still did his best, led them to better than 500 records and the playoffs till last year, but the lack of having a real second option hurt him, it was all on him to do everything. never have I seen a team so dependent on a swingman since Jordan, but even Jordan had an all-star front line in Pippin/Grant and then Pippin/Rodman to help him, the best T-mac had was Mike Miller, the ROY in arguably the weakest rookie class in ages.

I think the Jordan scenario will be analagous to what happens with McGrady. MJ during his first few years did it all but his teams never really went anywhere, then once he got some real help he began trusting him teamates and it led to his ultimate stardom and success. I think the same with T-mac, he has been basically to the bottom of the barrel and once he knows what it means to have another great player with him and a team willing to do what it takes to win he will raise his game and the others around him to make a contender. Kobe on the other hand will lead his team, and lead it well but he wont be leading them anywhere

I agree. We all know Yao is a quiet guy and IMO he doesn't even like the media attention he gets in every city he goes to. He talks to reporters out of courtesy. The guy can't even leave his house w/o getting followed around everywhere.

The worst place for him to end up would be LA or NY. The guy would have a nervous breakdown. Besides, Yao seems like a loyal player. He is to the CBA and i don't see that changing here.;)

The best part to me is one laker fan counter the statement "T-MAC and Shaq will Rockets Champions" by asking who are going to surround those two. Because after the T-MAC and Shaq trade, Rockets will have to give up their entire roster to just match salaries. The post trade roster will only have

    Shaq
    TMAC
    Adrin Griffin
    :D :D :D
