I don't follow baseball that closely, so I'll change it to what ever team is playing the Mariners.

    Ichiro Rules

Errr... but Ichiro mania is getting out of hand. Let's look at his stats:

    His average is terrific: .357
His OBP is very good: .385
His slugging % is mediocre: .474
    His OPS is mediocre: .859

He hits well. But he seldom walks and doesn't have much power. The public is obsessed with his ability to slap out singles, but there's no way he's even in the top 3rd of all outfielders. Yet he's the all-star lead vote getter? It's really crazy.

His overall contribution to his team is probably slightly better than league average for a RF.

I wish I could understand all those statistics, but all I know is that they are winning like crazy, and the city is losing it! Go Ms!!!!

Cool. Only one person mentioned the Bulls.

Why does everyone hate the Jazz?

Everyone hates the Jazz because they are the dirtiest team in the history of the league. They feature such notable thugs as Karl Malone and John "Flopton" Stockton. They manipulate the refs, cry when calls don't go their way, and they don't mind injuring another player to win.

One particular reason they are so hated is that shot by Stockton in the 97 Western Finals. Great shot, right? Sure, it would be if it wasn't tainted. If you watch the play, you'll see that it's because of an illegal screen that Stockton got open. Malone grabbed Drexler by the shoulders and practically threw him to the ground, allowing Stockton to drain the shot without a hand in his face.

That play denied the Rockets their right to beat the hell out of the Bulls in the Finals, and finally prove to EVERYONE that their titles were legit.

I used to not care enough about other teams to actually hate them (other than the Steelers and the Reds), but after spending some time arguing with Los Angelinos over the 32nd NFL Franchise, I've come to hate all the Los Angeles sports teams plus the Raiders. If people like Ted Dinou are representative of fans of Los Angeles teams, they all stink.

Oh, and I'm certainly no fan of the Cowboys.

LA Lakers, Texas A&M... I could never cheer for either of those teams, no matter what the situation.

If we're talking spoRts, the only teams I truly hate are the Jazz and the Yankees. Others I may dislike, but I wouldn't say hate.

Must I point out that the Rockets dominated the Bulls throughout the 90s? There isn't a doubt in my mind that the Rockets would have taken the championship in 97 if not for that totally illegal play by the Failman.

ZRB: thanks for denouncing that illegal screen by Malone. I jumped out of my chair when it happened. The TV guys said not one word about it.

I'm only a year onto ClutchCity, but I'm sure the guys/gals here raised cane, cain, oh hell about it!
