I also agree with Nickleback...at least, every thing after their "Leader of Men" days...

Along the same lines, Three Days Grace. Sure, "I Hate Everything(About You)" was a good song, but once they played it 8000 times in a row, it got repetitive. Then, they, like Nickleback, started putting out songs that sounded EXACTLY the same, down to the choruses changing pitch at the SAME EXACT parts, and it's starting to get on my last nerves. I hate them.

    John Mayer
    Toby Keith
Howie Day -- I was a big HD fan until I went to a show and he totally sucked. Now, while I don't hate him, I don't really like him at all any more.
    Hoobasuck

I know there are a lot more, but I can't think of them just yet.

This reminds me of something. A while back when that song "The Reason" was really big, I was at the BW3's in Pasadena. There are these 3 jackasses that look to be in their early 30's standing at the Buck Hunter machine just making all kinds of noise like they are badasses shooting video game deer(remember, I'm in Pasadena.) Well this song comes on and they all start high fiving, bumping chests, and singing the lyrics like it has just made their day. At that moment I knew I was in the presence of the 3 biggest tools in the world.

Indeed. I've never heard the song, but it still paints a great picture.

I guess I am in a charitable mood, and I am having a hard coming up with too many bands that I actually hate. At this point it's not hate so much as disinterest. I once loved U2, but that was back in the 80s. Never cared for Styx. Never cared for the grunge rockers either. I can't claim to have even heard any songs by some of the more recent bands such as Good Charlotte and Hoobastank.

There are two types of bands that I really can't stand:

    1. Those that wear costumes or try to shock you (usually to try and make up for how shi**y their music is)
    2. Those that try to be funny in their songs (to me this is an insult to music as an artform)

Their are others too like any kind of poppy a** teenie bopper crap - but that is a given

I don't "hate" them, but I really dislike their music.

Dave Matthews Band and The Eagles are some REAL good music.
    Phish is ok.

I never met anyone who'd say they hate these bands... you must listen to country.

take heart....I agree with damn near your entire list...I'm ambivalent about Blink 182 since Im not that familiar with them, and Soundgarden since I just think they are just over-rated, I dont hink they suck..I just dont see why ppl fall all over themselves talking about their greatness.

I absolutely cant stand Black Crowes, Peral Jam and Nirvana.

also...it shoudl go without saying that I cant stand those damn boy groups...or any "band" that doesnt play their own instruments...or any performer that uses recorded music to sing to in concerts...

If ya cant play the damn songs live you got famous for....you dont deserve to be called a artist/preformer or a band.

    OT....
    Real pisser about Ozzfest huh?
Maiden on the bill with Sabbath until the week before the Houston date...damn English music festival..

I dont......but I admit to providing the money for my daughter to buy one of their albums....and my niece likes them...both 12-14 yr old girls.

That is probably where it is coming from.

Im sorry...shoot me if you must

    ok...one more...

I, like andymoon, proudly admit that to this day...I like early Styx...not that godawful Kilroy Was Here album..or anything after that....but the early Styx from the mid-70s was good stuff.

    and for Mr plcm-whateva...

care to name off some more bands that you are lumping into that catagory?

Im not personally offended that you are slamming Poison, Motley Crue or Kiss....I was never a big fan of theirs anyway...but if you are gonna lump all 80s thru early 90s hard rock/metal together into your rant....

then..I have two words for you..

and they start with F and O

but the great thing about art is that it can be whatever you want it to be. there are no restrictions or limitations on it. art is expression, no matter what form it takes. just cause someone is doing comedy-based music doesnt mean it isnt art.

    weird al is art.
