Most disappointing season ever to date vis-à-vis preseason expectations?

    Nothing will ever top (hopefully) the 1986-87 season for disappointment. I was 1-2 years old so I obviously don't remember but from everything I've read it runs away with disappointment. We went for the NBA Finals to three guards having drug issues, Sampson only playing 1/2 season, and a 42-40 record.
