My family loved Van Helsing, but I kept dosing through it. It was a boring ass movie. Of course a plate of turkey on Thanksgiving didn't help matters.
I watched Van Helsing late last weekend on pay per view but it was annoying to keeping having to up the volume to hear the ultra softly spoken dialogue and then turn it way for the ultra loud action sequences. But I agree Kate Beckinsale was too frickin' hot in those FM boots. That and I am now convinced that Hugh Jackman is gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
I thought Ocean's 12 was good, but not great...def not in the same ballpark as 11. And the laser scene, that was prob the worst scene in the movie..not only for the reason you mentioned but aslo because earlier in the movie Danny's crew nixed that idea because it was impossible to do cause the lasers move randomly... and his dance obvisously looked choreographed.
I kinda liked Van Helsing. The Village, and Alexander deserved to be on the list. I had such high hopes for 'em when I went to see 'em. Talking about a big letdown, and a waste of my time.
I didn't see any of those movies although came really close to seeing the Sky Captain movie. Thank God, I talked my date out of that one (went to see Ladder 49 instead). One of these days I will rent "Van Helsing" mainly to drool over Kate Beckinsale, nothing more.
ewww yah, she rocks, but make sure to mute the tv because her accent is over the top horrible. the terminal movie sucked ass and definitely deserves mention. The village, meh, I wouldn't say it was a good movie, but the worst? I don't think so.
Rent "Underworld" if you want a better look at Kate, she is just smoking hot in that, "Van Helsing" was horrid and I like Jackman and Beckinsale but the movie was just about unwatchable.
Yeah Catwoman sucked bad! But then again did anyone really think it would be any good? Troy should have been on the list IMHO
Are you kidding? Myself and a ton of critics think that is one of the best comic book movies ever made.
define a "ton". I thought it was horrible as well. I could see how it would be a good comic book or animated series with how they tried to develop the characters, but with the movie, the amount of development was done at the expense of other aspects of the movie imo. The main baddies had almost no depth what-so-ever. The actual plot was very unfocused. The monster dogs were laughable. The pacing of the movie was uneven and painfully boring at times. The action sequences weren't even all that great. It's too bad too, because it had potential and they picked the perfect lead imo.
The Village deserves to be number one. It was hugely hyped, and had tons of anticipation, but completely fell flat. Personally, I really think that Shyamalan has to start going away from all these, "twist" endings. He should play some movies straight and just try to make a quality film without the gimmick of the last second reversal. It's not a surprise if everybody expects it. He's becoming trapped in his own formula. Sky Captain was an awesome movie. Maybe it's just because I love those classic films from the '30s and '40s. But I just loved this stylish retro update. Oh and while Ocean's 12 wasn't as good as Ocean's 11, I wouldn't stick it on a most disappointing movies list. I wish it was more about a heist than about all this other stuff, but it had some funny moments. I also totally called two parts. The whole "Julia Roberts" thing, and I totally knew who the woman bailing them out would be.
I was dissappointed in RAY. Of course the acting was awesome but the story was average at best. I'm gon' get high! ok, ok i get it, ray liked to get high, fine
Amen. The effects alone were incredible. Sure, the acting was a little wooden, but the movie was quite entertaining. Sorry, but I don't consider a movie with a 74% rating at Rottentomatoes.com (the highest rated movie on this list) to be disappointing. Maybe only at the box office...
Yep, The Village sucked. Wait, i didn't even see it. OK, so I HEARD it sucked. Alexander really did suck. I want my 10 bucks back. Terminal is a good movie. It doesn't deserve to be on this list.
It would be a nice twist for Shyamalan to make a movie without a twist at the end. Nobody would expect it.
Dead serious...and that's why I was utterly dissapointed by it. I never read the comics, but based on the trailers and overall critic and public reaction, I though it would be at least decent, hell decent enough for me to check out. But the very beginning scene, the severely unrealistic WWII flashback, set the tone for the whole movie. All the characters, save for Hellboy, had no depth to them. The monster dog things looked pretty fake and hence not scary or intimidating at all, plus were severely overused throughout the movie. The story was fairly weird and predictable and just got weirder by the end (i mean honestly, wtf was up with the last 20min or so?!). The action scenes were pretty flat and boring. And I pretty much felt no connection to all the characters, INCLUDING Hellboy. I honestly do not know what the critics were on when they reviewed that movie, either that or I just didn't see the same movie they saw. But I will say it did have a few good moments... like the underwater scene and the scene btwn Hellboy and the little kid, and Ron Pearlman WAS Hellboy. As for best comic book movie ever made... X2 and Spidey 2 hold that reign. right on
I fell asleep during Ocean's twelve. It just didn't make any damn sense (or perhaps that was because I missed the parts that would have helped piece it together .
I liked Oceans 12, The Terminal and The Village. I thought Van Helsing was ok. I was very hyped for Sky Captain but then the previews kept getting worse each time I saw them... so I skipped the movie. Where is Closer, Alfie and The Manchurian Candidate on that list? I'm sure they sucked. Jude Law has been on a cold streak... I was pretty dissapointed about Hellboy. Spongebob and Garfield pretty much sucked also. my sleeper movie was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - I expected 2 stars, but I was very suprised, great movie. 2004 movie list
