Nice timing Jacquescas, John Hollinger of ESPN just posted an article of his list of the most disappointing player in the NBA: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&id=2757049
Mike James - PG Larry Hughes - SG Jared Jeffries - SF Ben Wallace - PF (I know he is a C) Shaq - C The entire 2006 draft class gets honorable mention.
Jrich had knee surgery during training camp, tried to play through it, but couldn't. So he took a couple games off to rest his knee. Couple games back after the knee problems he breaks his hand. I was looking forward to see how well he does this year, considering he finds ways to improve his game every year.
I'm a diehard Cavs (and Browns) fan. So I've got to add my votes for Lebron, Hughes, and Illgauskas. If you want to know what uninspired basketball is, look no further. It's nearly unbearable to watch. It's like 5 guys wandered onto a basketball court and are just waiting to get off of it. I'd almost rather watch a worse team that plays harder. ALMOST. The Cavs haven't had this level of talent since the Price/Daugherty days.
Seconded. Maybe it really is because they have no real point guard on their team, but man that might be the most lifeless, uninspired basketball team in the league. So much talent, so much lethargy. Their offensive sets are as boring as they get. They're one of the few teams in the league that can boast of having a fairly good center, a superstar swingman and a tall, talented shooting guard, a very athletic power forward and good shooters off the bench. Why do they suck so badly? They have absolutely no identity as a team. LeBron ought to be at the very top of this list. One year ago he was a triple double threat every night. Now his scoring is down, his assists are down, rebounds are down, everything. He can't take over games. You drape him with defense and he just wilts and disappears. Too sad. Maybe they need a new coach. I always thought Mike Brown was a good coach, but now I just don't think so anymore.
Kirilenko definitely the most obvious choice. Surprised Lebron is that high on the list. 26/6/6 isnt an automatic pass anymore. I'm still putting Brad Miller's name in there, though he's had some injuries. He had a couple good stat years with Indiana before he went to Sacramento (IIRC, I remember him being in an All-Star game with a Pacer's uniform even). Maybe he got too used to the Princeton offense but still he's just not getting it done.
Excellent post. I'm still holding onto Mike Brown, but there is a serious problem w/ the team morale and motivation right now. He still hasn't been able to instill that defensive mentality either. If things don't change by the end of the season I can't complain if the Cavs shop for another coach.
God how i hate Chris Kaman. i will never understand how the Clippers could give that ugly ADD idiot $52 million. His contract will be an albatross for that club for years to come.
