I just took that class. If I hadn't taken a refresher algebra course and a finite math course I would have been screwed. I still haven't received my grade, so I could still be screwed.
I spent two years of college as a EE major. I was a complete slacker, didn't take notes in class, didn't study and I still had a 4.0 GPA while completing three years worth of the degree program. Then I switched to physics and college actually became challenging. My hardest class was Mathematical Physics. Two thirds of the class was devoted to studying group theory.
Exactly. How can anyone say a major is significantly harder than another? I could be majoring in physical education and say it's the hardest major ever if I was a ******. All I'm saying is different strokes for different folks.
Yeah, I had a pretty hard time with Computational Theory, but probably because I had a grad student teaching it. He had a hard time NOT living in an abstract world. That Physics class you're referring to WAS pretty tough, but I luckily ended up getting into a study group with a semi-hot girl for that semester, so it was easy for me to put in the extra hours to "get the grade", so to speak. Operating Systems was definitely tough, but it's supposed to be the hardest class, at least is was at our school. Weirdly though, I needed a job after I took it and ended up becoming a TA for that class. I was a little in over my head at first, but looking back, none of it seems that difficult anymore. Outside of the core subjects, I absolutely hated Linear Algrebra. I don't know why. I generally like math, and I really liked calculus a lot.
Masterworks of the Chinese Novel (Shui Hu Zhuan, Hong Lou Meng, Xi You Ji, and Jin Ping Mei) - in Chinese... and no, I'm a whitey.
as a CS major, the classes i had the most difficulty with were "Calculus-based Physics" and "Calculus I". moreso than the coursework, i think the professors add a lot to the difficulty. i went on to have an easier time with Calculus II & III and Diffirential Equations which, in theory, should be more difficult than Calculus I. my professors sucked. that said, having graduated 15 years ago, i probably only got applicable experience in half a dozen of my courses.
Yeah ... I know for sure he didn't go to UH. Nobody -- NOBODY survives Crisan's Circuits class by slacking. I don't care how smart you are.
"Christians And Romans" - A religion course studing Roman texts talking about the new cult springing up around the empire. Really cool class, but very heavy research and tough professor.
If anyone is in the Honors College at UH... HUMAN SITUATION was the hardest undergrad course I took. In my major courses (I am a Finance/Accounting), it would be Intermediate Accounting.
