The fact that nobody's said anything about this remark is pretty much positive proof that Francis gets a harder time around these parts. If someone dares to post anything a fraction as critical of McGrady, there are dozens of TMac-Carthyists dogpiling and painting them as a hater or unfaithful Rockets fan.

BTW, I'm not singling you out, there is much more venomous stuff being posted over in another Francis thread.

The reason why I was booing Steve Francis that time was because I knew how the game of basketball was supposed to be played and the typical houston band wagon fans were behind me saying something like this "You can't boo him he plays for us thats steve francis!" I'm sorry but i am a ROCKETS FAN, NOT A FRANCIS FAN! I root for the team playing together as a team, not trying to boost up their own stats. Steve Francis will tell you himself now that he wasn't mature back then. I love steve's talent (back then) but i just couldn't believe how bad we became after our very successful early/mid 90's years.

Thats because the media wants another face to market and they see t-mac as that guy but t-mac is t-mac. He isn't jordan or bryant like sports writers want him to be. I think he tries, he just is a real complicated guy who represents talent isn't everything. It's a will to win that makes you great, not stats or fancy dunks.

Great post, and I'd like to add a couple players who to me epitimized what a player should be and I enjoyed watching them growing up. Earl Cambell. Glen Davis. Jose Cruuuuuuuzzz (I used to love going to the Dome back then). Haywood Jefferies, Curtis Duncan and Ernest Givens. Used to love how they came up with the passes from Moon. The biggest one I think you missed out on that every Houston fan will forever Cherrish. hAkeem Olajuwon.

1999ers! Get over yourselves. Just because you have a handle that relates you to 1999 doesn't mean you were the only ones around to see the championships and anything pre 2000. I lived in Guam when I first started visiting this site to check on all things Rockets b/c well anything out west of California is all Fakers. I was first stationed in Guam in 99 when I had a handle similar to the one I have now. I was also a 99er, but you don't see me jumping all over the "newbies" to tell them how little they know and how insignificant they are because they came to clutchfans late or even had to make a new account like myself. It's just getting old, like the kids online that are good in one thing in life and that's video games and tell me how I got "powned". What the hell does that mean anyway. Being that your handle relates you to starting an account in 99, is that really the only thing you've achieved in your life. If so, then you need to refocus your ambitions.

it was a terrible trade that SF3 and cat and cato for JH,tmac ,lue and gains.

houston rockets had been improving since yao's arrival in 02,but the improvement ceased occasionally in 04.whatsoever, in the year 04 ,we entered the playoffs with SF3 and yao for the first time since dream's retirement.our team was on its way to summit, but our developing trend was disturbed by the damned trade. You know, yao and SF3 messed well during the two years they were together, but i haven't seen such reaction ever happened between tmac and yao.Howard is a typical high salary-low capability roster, cat is just opposite.....in a word ,if i were les,i would have fired dawson four years ago.I would take any other guy who won't decline the trade offer that tmac ,novak ,luther for roy and KG to dawson's place.

    to be continued.......

if i were les,i would resign dawson because he is too old to react to an ideal trade offer immediately. in the april of 06,timberwolves offered rockets and trade proposal ,they intended to trade KG and their 1st round pick of 06 for tmac, luther ,and our 2nd round pick of 06.

then it was the draft, david said" with the sixth pick of 2006 nba draft ,the minnisota timberwolves select BRAND ROY from .........."
if the pick belonged to us ,we would be gonna bring roy to houston instead of minnisota or potland, and rudy gay would not be traded to memphis.
Then ,we would have Gay and Roy and KG in our line-up right now. With yao and Roy and Gay as assistants,KG might be able to get his ring one year earlier.Together with KG,yao and the rockets team would have son the third championship for the city of houston.

to be honest, dawson is a great GM who brought yao to houston,i think bringing yao home may be the smartest decision he has ever made in his life.Dawson deserves our respectation but it's time for morey now.

    Francis's attacks were mostly basketball.

    TMac's attacks are more personal.

I thought for a moment that maybe it was because there were more intelligent basketball discussions back then, and more mindless haters now. But then I realized that some of the mindless TMac haters are old timers. Go figure.
