Swift is not the final piece, the Rockets need a playmaking, hot shooting guard. He must be able to make the great entry pass and be fast enough and big enough to defend the larger guards. Currently the Rockets have no one like this. In order to compete with SA and the Heat, this is a must. The Rockets may still be a year or two away from championship contention. Nevertheless, they were exciting to watch last year and will be so again this season.
Out of the choices, I would say that I haven't been this excited in the Yao Ming era. So, Swift for the WIN. The year I was the most excited out of all of my years as a Rockets fan was when we got Barkley in 96-97. The Bulls were a lock for the Finals again, and a Rockets/Bulls finals was a dream matchup. It might have been the best Finals of all-time had it happend. But the illegal Malone/Stockton pick happened instead .... On a side note, I came across several 'Rockets/Bulls' finals T-Shirts several years ago on a clearance rack. I'm guessing that most of the country was counting on that finals as well, including some poor manufacturer who lost a bundle. Wish I would have bought a few.
