It's actually has a very strong cast: Juaquin Phoenix Adrien Brody William Hurt Sigourney Weaver Brendan Gleeson
Neither of those listed. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King: Extended Edition. That's all I'm hanging out for. Troy looks as though it might be ruined by Hollywood. But I'm still hanging out for it.
Troy to be sure. This thread made me realize something about me and my two favorite genres (historical & sci-fi): I don't live in the present...only work here.
lord of the rings extended edition? you actually want to watch an EXTENDED version of that movie? what, the first thirty hours of frodo crossing a mountain wasnt enough? i kid, i kid. hmm wow i look at that list of movies and i think shrek 2 and garfield(cuz im such a big fan) are the only movies i really care about. maybe troy. i havent seen a movie in theatres in months.....probably school of rock was the last movie ive seen in theatres. crazy. wait,no, it was probably matrix revolutions. which sucked. but thats a story for another day.
i would say if its just pertaining to any movies coming out this year i would go: star wars dvds (original in sept) return of the king extended dvd then for flicks on the big screen return of the king extended ( you know some place will screen this somewhere) spiderman 2 harry potter 3 troy alexander harold and kumar go to white castle
Some of us have had the actual DVD for months. Oh, the things you can buy on the streets of NYC! I'm personally stoked for Harry Potter. Wish nomar was around to give us more "Harry Potter is the devil!" commentary.
I'm torn... I love the Harry Potter series, even though I thought it was stupid at first; but there's just something about Orlando Bloom and Brad Pitt (or Johnny Depp for that matter) in a movie together.... mmmm.
I doubt it. Now I don't expect him to start a trend of being nominated for Oscar's, but he's the perfect cookie cutter action hero actor for the new millenium. I'm going to have to add Catwoman to the list simply for the Halle Berry factor. Also add Alien vs. Predator to that list.
i saw some scenes for catwoman recently and it looks very well done. it's a good idea to have halle berry as catwoman. vin diesel though... i was such a huge fan after XXX... but his other movies have been disappointing. that perfect action hero title has since been passed onto the Rock. The Rock has a cooler personality, I guess, and is a better actor. My opinion. The Chronicles of Riddick looks like a bust... but I don't know how hard core that fan base is.
I agree about the XXX thing. I liked the guy in Boiler Room and Pitch Black, but XXX was a pretty kick ass movie. His demeanor fit the role perfectly. As far as his other movies, I just never go into them expecting much. The Rock is a decent actor I suppose, but I think Vin can be a little more diverse. I think he could pull some more drama roles and possibly even a comedy roles if the right script came along. I can't see The Rock stepping outside of the action realm. You'd be suprised how many people became fans of Vin because of Pitch Black. Just the fact that they are taking the franchise a step futher shows that people are interested.
Can someone enlighten me what he thinks is so great about Spider man? The scripts? The love story? The action ? I did not find anything that stood out for Spider man 1. It is the only DVD in my collection that I have no desire to watch the second time.
In case this is not a joke, I have multiple answers. First of all, this new catwomen has nothing to do with the other movies or the comics. She just has the same name, even though this is a WB and DC movie. She's a completely different character who unlike the comic book version, actually has "cat powers." Also, you can see at the end of Batman Returns, that he doesn't even find her body and we see her silhouette at the very end. Finally, even if she did die, it doesn't matter because there won't be any sequels based on those 4 original bat movies. The new Batman movie is starting it all over again. I'd also like to say that I think this Catwoman movie will suck. I mean, just look at that headgear.
Not sure if it will ever happen now, but my vote goes to Confederacy of Dunces by David Gordon Green (George Washington, All The Real Girls, and the upcoming Undertow). Brilliant directory and writer, plus it's one of my favorite books ever. I'm confused by the choice of Will Ferrell as Ignatius, though. P.S. Hoffman would have been perfect
You know, I read a list of the "best" unproduced screenplays one time, and Daniel Waters' Catwoman was on that list. So, of course, Warners completely dropped Waters' script and went with something else. Of course, Intolerable Cruelty was on that list, too, and when that eventually got made, it didn't so much turn out that well, in my opinion.
