Bummer! (well, I'll take it. ;) ) I would love a film that went from Caesar's early days through his Gallic campaign. (nod to MacBeth) and it could end with him crossing the Rubicon or earlier. He had a hell of an interesting life before he became a great general. I wouldn't mind a film that dealt with his early years.

Cool. My favorite periods in history:

    1) Late Roman Republic.
    2) Napoleonic era.
    3) The time of Alexander/the Successors.
    4) Greece during the Peloponisian wars, going back to the Persian Wars.

So I need a film called " Thermopylae", or maybe " Pericles", and I'll be sated.

I like it too... Jolie as olympias is very good.

Rosario dawson as roxanne... good stuff! Probably they're gonna try to make a romance of it eh? Too bad Roxanne was only 13...

hey... I know who would be great...

    Lindsay Lohan!

    hahaha...

you're so funny. dream on... LOL.

you know what? if i ever make money and become a huge movie producer. i'll make a trilogy just for youu: "Thermopylae", "Pericles", and "Tamerlane" <-- that one would be for me.

    ...

except they'll be romantic comedies so I won't lose all my money.

Hannibal Barca wasn't black. He was Cartheginian, which meant essentialy Phoenician, or what we would today call Lebanese.

I like your signature, I feel the same way sometimes listening to some of these morons.

    Movies:

Spiderman 2, Troy, and I didn't see anyone mention "The Village" - the new M. Knight Shamalan film. I saw an extended preview the other night when they were showing "Unbreakable" and it looks interesting, suspensful. Hopefully this one will come close to being as good as Sixth Sense.

Don't know if this was already mentioned (I only skimmed this thread), but Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow has been pushed back to the fall season. Bummer.

I voted for Shrek 2. Although The Village is also at the top of my must-see list. I've heard the twist ending sucks, but people said the same thing about Unbreakable and that's one of my all-time favorite films.

    1. Troy - i love greek and roman myths and stories and this is one of my favorite of those. throw in todays ability to recreate huge battles, that scene where they show the boats on the water stretching back as far as you can see, a big time cast, a 200 million dollar budget and you can be sure my ass will be in a seat for this movie.

    2. The Day After Tomorrow - big huge natural disasters destroying everything and lots of action and special effects. hey, i'm there again.

    3. Shrek 2 - even though i haven't really even noticed that it's coming out, the first one was so funny i need to see the sequel.

    4. Spiderman 2 - never saw Spiderman 1 (never looked that interesting and i'm not a fan of any comic books) but the fact so many people liked it and the fact i'm really liking the commercials and ads for Spiderman 2 definitely has my interest.

    I'm with ya there.

But Anchorman was my choice from the list.

I'm burned out on big summer movies after so many of them being so much less than they could've been.
