Diadocci can be spelled either way, actually. Asnwer was Antigonus ( and his son). The others all formed an alliance against him, and he still damn near pulled it off. Was defeated in battle and executed at the age of 81, and his son fell not long afterwards. But he was soooclose, and had he won, it's extremely doubtfull we'd have ever really heard much about Rome, assuming we were here to hear anything at all. But, yeah, one of my roomies was just saying that it's Farrell and Jolie ( as mother), and due this year. So maybe there are two of them. Hollywood does that all the time too.
Bourne Surpremacy is actually a sequel to Bourne Identity. Not sure about the sequel becasue one of my fav. actors Doug Liman (Swingers, Go) didnt do the sequel. I saw only Spiderman 2 for me. The rest is not really to get hyped up for.
Oliver Stone is directing a movie entitled Alexander, staring Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins and Val Kilmer, and it is due out some time this year. http://www.hollywood.com/movies/detail/movie/372555
Vin freaking Deisel? Oh, God. This is going to be like one of those Fox made renditions of classical themes, a la Hercules, Xena, etc. God, that's let the wind out of my sails a tad.
My Bad... The list is for the summer Then take SW3 off of the list, move everyone up, and add: 5. Soul Plane - That cast will be worth at least a couple dozed laughs.
Excellent! Cast looks good ( Kilmer as Phillip is a stroke of genius), first envisioned Hopkins as Parmenion, as Ptolemy was basically a contemporary of Alexander's, so there must be some sort of flashback thing going on...
Troy. I totally love historical epics. Lawrence of Arabia, just to mention another, is bumping up there around the top of my favorite movie list. Gladiator was awesome, and could have been so much better had they gone with a bit of a different story line, but that's another topic. (MacBeth, you said again what I would have, dammit! ) I'm looking forward to more historical epics down the pike... Napoleon, Caesar... are two lives on film I would kill to see done with current technology and a great director. Can't wait for the Alexander and Hannibal flicks. Trafalgar! Gettysburg! Bring 'em on!
Yeah, there are 2 Alexander movies coming out. Kind of like how there are 2 Caesar mini series coming out, one from ABC and one from HBO. I cannot freaking wait for Spidey 2. Van Helsing, I was amped to see, but the reviews have been dismal, I'll still watch it, but now I'll be going in all wondering how bad it will be instead of how awesome it will be. Troy will be great, I hope, but shouldn't the Greeks be using a Phalanx instead of just charging the Trojans? Oh yeah, Vin does suck.
LOL! Yeah, I was expecting Napoleon and Caeser films too, for Caser particularly around his Gallic campaign against Vercingetorix. You want to know how much of a sucker I am for historical dramas? Does anyone remember the add for, I think it was one of the Nked Gun movies, but certainly it was a Leslie Neilsen picture which oppened with a gag historical setting with what looked like a Napoleonic battle in the background, until the girl in the forefront falls off the cliff, and it vbecomes clear it's a sppof comedy nothing to do with the opening? I think I got excited the 1st 5 or 6 times I saw it, damnit! I was trying to remember where I had seen it, and figure out what film it was...they got me every time...
Nah, phalanx came much later. At this time they were still into the 1 on 1 battles for the sake of glory.
Here's the trailer, doesn't really turn be on, but I'll probably check it out. http://www.apple.com/trailers/touchstone/king_arthur.html
Oh, I should mention, those Caesar movies from ABC and HBO are both actually about Caesar being assissinated and the rise of Octavius.
Thanks. I am using someone else's puter, so can't download QT without permission, but I'm sure she'll ok it when I ask later. Cast looks good, I love Owen, and Knightly will be great just to look at.
