Well, he does know Steve Francis... ------------------ Feeling claustrophobic, like the walls are closing in. Blood stains on my hands, and I don't know where I've been. I'm in trouble for the things I haven't got to yet. I'm chomping at the bit, and my palms are getting wet. Sweating Bullets Runnin', Ravin', Endin', Out.
Just what I was thinking, RR. Inquiring minds want to know. ------------------ Some days you eat the bear. Some days the bear eats you.
This guy sounds more and more like Cato every day. If he starts bragging that he's gonna lead the league in rebounds, then the Rockets better avoid him like the plague. ------------------
How can you say that? Maybe Tmo should have said,"Honestly, I think there's about 16-17 better players than me in this draft." Tmo might not work out in the pros--i think he will--but he is no cato. ------------------
the rookie pay scale for 1st round picks is 3mil to 600k...second rounders get around 600k to 300k... http://www.realgm.com/src_rookiescale.php a benz costs approximately 50k...times two.. =~100k...so let's say...worst case he gets drafted late in the second round...then he would have spent about 1/3 or 1/4 of his first years salary on 2 cars....ouch..he must be pretty confident... ------------------
Fredterp- I have enjoyed all your insights on T-mo, but I strongly disagree that Battier has peaked. Battier will make an immediate impact in this league (unlike the 2-4 high schoolers and college freshman who may go above him). I don't think someone like Battier has peaked. He is intelligent and is a hard worker, two things that you can't teach. I still don't think I would spend a 1st round pick on T-mo. My personal opinion is he didn't dominate games last year. He may have done some intangibles well, but he was a disappointment for much of the year. I would agree he would be a nice pickup in the second round (but at this point we don't have a second round pick), but there will be some big bodys available for us at 23 who will be projects. Keep in mind for the Rockets we hopefully will trade Cato, Collier is more than likely a career back-up, and even if Dream returns it is only for a year or two tops. At #23 I would take a big man project, just based on our needs over T-mo. My final point is, and it is not a slam at T-mo, but he fell out of the lottery for a reason, it wasn't for being a great player and dominating his final year in college. I can't thank of many college players who didn't dominate that went on to stellar NBA careers. T-mo has the ability but it worries me that he didn't dominate.

Spending 1/3 of your salary really makes a difference when you make what, $40K per year? However, if he makes 300K (at the end of the scale) then he would still end up with 200K. That's my salary multiplied by a few times, and I manage to survive somehow. ------------------
