Was that Jesse Jackson or Thomas Sowell masquerading as Kanye West?

Talking about making an ass out of themselves. You've called people names, made accusations and statements calling them facts, and the only reasoning, or support that you've ever given is "that is how it feels to you" or the majority of Americans feel that way(without any kind of poll to back it up).

Just admit it, you're ignorant. It's okay. You've got some weird chip on your shoulder about it and so you call people names and get into all this hyperbole about who's a moron. You're just really angry for some reason and you like to run with it. It's alright man. I just feel bad for you getting all upset and not even knowing what you're talking about. It's tragic.

It's probably Julian Bond. Kind of like it's really Jimmy Hoffa/Joe McCarthy masquerading as Dick Cheney these days. A nice mixture of mob tactics and scare tactics to run the nation these days.

Once again. Read the original post. The interviewer called him out on his flip flop on the poor people\black people statements, and Kanye basically admitted that he didn't understand but, it's okay, because everyone was saying that. That's what this thread is about.

Are you people really as dense as you seem in this thread?

I really have to stop arguing with you liberals. It's an exercise in futility. I guess some people just choose to be ignorant. Enjoy.

In other words if all we have a bunch of stupid "evidence" that you're wrong about pretty much every single thing you've posted here and we're too dumb to take your word about how dumb we are we're not worth your time. That's iron clad, brotherman. Who needs evidence or a debate on the merits when you know "how you feel?" Yeah, we choose to be ignorant.

Yes I saw that Kayne said that what he said could be seen as wrong in some ways. He amended his statement to be poor people instead of Black people. I'm not arguing that Kanye is a great spokesperson or not.

I am pointing out that you make all kinds of charges and with little or no substance to back them up. Kanye did not say in Playboy or anywhere else that I have found, that he is the spokesperson or flagbearer for the Democratic party.

Yes we are all so dense that we actually look for facts, substance and proof when someone makes a claim.

Maybe you should stop arguing, until you understand the improtance of actual facts in an argument.

p.s. Several people here have directly responded to your accusations about Kanye. Meanwhile, you haven't even tried to respond to the stuff about Condi, Bush or my two requests for you to police your own in Robertson, Dobson and Coulter. Nor have you even tried to defend your imaginary slights against HRC or liberals in general. Instead you just tell us we prefer to be ignorant. Top notch, dude. I bet you were the captain of the debate team.

The interviewer said there is a difference between poor people and black people and West clarified his statement to say there happen to be way more black people that are poor which is true as a percentage certainly, particularly in New Orleans which is the entire context in which his comments were made. He was at a Katrina benefit when he made his comments after all.

You don't even know what a flip flop is man! I'll give you a good example.

Brownie, you're doing a great job.

    Later...

    Brownie, you're fired.

That's not quite the way it played out:

Playboy: "But you didn't say he doesn't care about poor people; you said he doesn't care about black people. There's a difference."

Playboy simply pointed out that he was saying something different now than he said before-- the latter being less racially-charged. Now that is a flip-flop.

I somehow doubt that Kanye West is the sociologist that you are... :D

What I think is most disturbing is a guy with a playboy magazine, and his focus of interest is the Kanye West interview.

You're trying to remove his statement from the context in which it was made. He wasn't watching the Olympics and just blurted out that Bush doesn't care about black people. Everyone could see that the people affected were overwhelmingly black, the response was overwhelmingly inadequate, and this resulted in statements like the one West made. The inspiration for the comment is transparent and the data reinforces the basics of his comment.

I assure you there's no mistaking Bush's lack of caring for the black community. There's a reason he gets killed in those polls. Playing semantics with a hip hoppers comments isn't going to change of any that, really now.

The only thing I'm trying to remove is some logic from your mind.

When asked about his earlier comment about Bush not caring about blacks, he changed the comment to Bush not caring about poor people.

That is as plain as day and indisputable. Now, of course, you can try to go around that...

I am not interested in what he meant back then. I am pointing out that he effectively changed (whether intentional or not) what he said when he re-stated it and he was caught doing so. Then he tried to deny that he was changing it or he didn't recognize the difference in the remarks.

He wasn't watching the Olympics; wasn't the intial remark made from the red carpet of some awards ceremony or something.

The misery of Katrina was not caused by Bush; it was Mother Nature.

if half of america and 90% of minorities hate Bush, that still doesn't mean Bush doesn't care about these.

    Ergo, Kanye's logic is flawed.

That being said... he is arrogant and filled with misplaced confidence, so he is clearly not speaking on behalf of the democratic party.

Just like labeling people who don't support the war as traitors?

Incidentally, neither major political party cares about poor people, black or white. Not enough to make their lives better. Poor people get the big middle finger in America and it's not to say "we're # 1!" either.

I guess it would depend on their reason for not supporting the war...

Which are the reasons that are okay with you, giddyup? And which make us traitors? I can't wait to hear this.
