He does still have to make the 25 man roster (apparently it is a foregone conclusion, but not official yet) to get his 1.75 million major league salary.

His quotes are reminiscent of Hidalgo's.

As many of us said, I'm sure Kevin Long is a fine hitting coach. But he's no miracle worker. New York is completely oversaturated with media (it's no coincidence both Ensberg and Hidalgo's "we're cured!" stories came out of New York), which leads to more articles about lesser-known coaches and players than what happens with the coverage a non-New York baseball team.

Don't mistake being truly unique with simply having a larger media contingent to tell the story, which essentially is the case here.
