i disagree, he's overrated in my book. he does everything alright, nothing great. athletic and nice size at the 3 but he's like rudy gay or someone like that, nothing speacial IMO and overpaid.
I disagree. He is a great passer, rebounder and defender, and he runs the court very well.... He is FAR and away a better player than Rudy Gay. He makes his mark on the defensive end. Give me 20-6-5 with 46-47 percent shooting and solid defense and a 2-1 assist to t/o ratio any day...
ok, better than Rudy Gay, but not undervalued, that's for sure. trade cooks expiring for hilton armstrong's expiring, give them a couple of 2nd rounders and throw armstrong in the fire, he's got the height, athletic, and still on young legs.
The guy that averaged 10 and 7 in his senior year of college? Hmm. I am not so sure. His shotblocking would help, but he is kind of crappy to be honest with you. What do you like about him other than his youth and athleticism?
Given the stat system that was contructed by Morey and his team, we the normal citizens wouldn't be able to guess the true meaning behind the scene. One thing i do know is from time to time, Morey has mentioned the word "True Assist" which i think indicates the 2 passes before the shot made. Given that's just part of the ingridient within the complex system, we will never be able to consist a list of his "undervalue" players. We can only guess a couple players who are making less than what they contribute for the team. Shane and Kyle were definitely on the list as they were proved by Morey. I would guess hmm.. Speights from the sixers, Azubuke/Randolph from the warriors..
if i'm not mistaken, he played behind okafor for the duration of the time he was at UCONN, but given time at NO, i think he has the skill set and ability to play 20-30 minutes at the 5. i have no statistics nor evidence to show you that he would thrive in our system, but just saying, he might be one of those players that might be "undervalued" such as Landry who no one, i mean no one thought he would turn out the way he did, and the same goes for AB as well.
give me a few other 7 footers "under the radar" who you think Morey would like. I would love to get CP3 and Hilton over here, that would upgrade our G and C positions, one can dream right?
Lets just see how this season ends and how the next season begins before we gamble away our chips. Our team's gonna be pretty sick next year. C:Yao/Chuck/Anderson PF: Scolandry/Anderson SF: Shane/Ariza/bud SG: Mac/Ariza/bud PG: Brooks/Lowry If we are able to resign the same players with our all stars being productive. I honestly think that we have a good shot to contend with LA for the champ.
Lowry in Memphis is the type I think Morey calls "undervalued": a player who isn't getting the playing time or recognition he deserves on his current team not because of any lack of talent, but because that team has a glut in his position or is "going in a different direction". Or like Scola, an international player who has NBA-level skills but for whatever reason the team that drafted him is hesitant about bringing him over.
Like Rudy Gay, except he's a very good passer and defender while Gay isn't good at either. I'm a big Iguodala fan. Maybe he just plays really well whenever I happen to watch the 76ers (which, admittedly is only a handful of times per season).
That is a good question. I like the Armstrong idea, I just have not seen him play too much. I wish I had a clue on who the Rockets are going after. As far as young bigs go, I would want Anthony Randolph, to be honest with you...
he's got potential, potential being the keyword, haven't seen him do anything outside the summer league, but armstrong really has gone under the radar and has played behind chandler and okafor now. if given the 20-30 minutes, i'm sure he would probably produce.
Someone on the Wizards, who are 7-14... They are about to go in full tank mode.... I like Andray Blatche, Javale McGee, Antawn Jamison, Caron Butler, Mike Miller, etc....
