Morey is trying to make the best of a terrible situation...

However it should be pointed out that the Rockets can trade or sign as many young role players as they want and they will....... never get past round 1 without a star player and will never be a contender without a superstar.

What superstar players are available? Wade and LeBron are not going to the Rockets. Bosh is a long shot, and he is not a guy to carry a team.

So that leaves the draft and I dont think we will have a high enough pick...

    Good luck Morey!

If we can get Bosh, we won't need to pick up Scola.

Can i change my name to MarcinBud14?

I actually like this, Rox won't be going anywhere anyways, might as well rebuild instead of hanging around, every team has to go down eventually.

Hey thats how we got Yao in the first place

If the Rockets are really going to rebuild then they should keep pushing for Rubio because he has a chance to be special... Rockets wont get many chances like that

I agree with the new plan 100 percent. Morey and Les are obviously tired of the uncertainty and want to go a new direction, and it's long overdue. Quite frankly, you didn't need to wait for Yao's latest foot injury to know he's brittle or Tracy's MF surgery soap opera to know he's a pretender.

Last Summer the talk was BIG 3 IN HOUSTON and all the Championship talk.

Now its like WTF happened to the Rockets?

In my opinion, here's what the Rockets should do:

    • Yao should just take the whole year off after his surgery. Don't even try to make it back by the postseason.

    • Sign Gortat and another 7 foot center so the Rockets wouldnt have to worry about a back up center for Yao in 2010.

    • If possible trade Tracy for some young talent or let him walk after this season.

    • The 2010 draft class looks very legit, so if the Rockets could get a lottery pick it will be a very good addition to the team.

    • The Rockets young core will get many minutes this season and will add another year's worth of experience to their game.

Then Houston will be very attractive for FAs in 2010 with a healthy Yao and the Rockets's young core with another year's worth of experience.

I honestly think Scola is poor-man's Bosh. He may not have all the athleticism and a little less shooting range of Bosh, but he has a tougher mindset and he is more displined defensively.

If we save 4-5 mil by by signing Scola instead of Bosh that we can use on another players I do that.

Mcgrady depending on how he plays when he comes back could be
a big commodity at the trade deadline. We should look to send him off for draft picks.

Talented but screwed up in the head. I think the ejection in the playoffs was only the tip of the iceberg.

The T-mac Yao era is over. It is natural.

so what is Morey lusting over? A young team?

    Brooks, Ariza, Gortat, Sola, Battier

With Landry, maybe a rookie, Hayes, White and Dorsey?

all of this headed by a rebel coach...

MIGHT make it to the first round... but I don't know about that.

    Bosh and D-Wade for 2010.

If Yao is done, we need to not even show up this season and start again. Let all there contracts expire and start again. Morey needs to get as many first round picks as possible for next season. Between 2 and 4 top 20 picks. Get some great young talent and throw the money around.

I think we can get Bosh, but D-Wade is a 50/50 prospect.

The only way to go is up.

Unless all our young players age suddenly overnight and lose their talent, knowing our luck though :)

Because he's drop-dead certain no one will ever trade an over-priced player like Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol.
