That is over paying imo. 40 million for Scola should be more like 30 million and Lowry only his first offseason should see 20 million at 30 million he would be making more then Alston don't see it happening.

None of us is factoring over seas teams bidding on our player services. I am afraid that is why many teams use a 2-3 star approach vs a rotation that allows even playing time. You end up with many players that want mid-level contracts because he is scoring 20 PTs from the bench.

Sorry. I think we'll re-sign Tmac. He just needs to get healthy. :)

Handling the T-Mac situation and/or Summer 2010 will be Morey's biggest test to date. I don't necessarily agree that it will define his tenure as GM.

i dont think many of our guys have reason to go overseas. Scola has shown money isn't an issue, he's closer to home here than in Europe and in a city where there's a lot of hispanics and lot of spanish speaking services/businesses. Over there only Spain is similar, but much farther.

Lowry and Landry also don't seem greedy enough to give up an American lifestyle. Lowry probably won't even get a lot of offers, and i dont think he's in a position to demand more than what the market will offer. Landry may be, but that guy seems too dow to earth to also leave the NBA. Maybe if they get soem crazy offer...but i think they're all less likely to go than the avg player.

McGrady is gone unless he has a change of heart and signs for a cheap contract with the team in hopes of us getting a title.

Scola is something of an issue. I personally doubt that he wants to really leave Houston, but if a team offers him money or if the Rockets don't offer him the right amount, I don't think he will stay either. If the dream many have about us getting that boy currently with Toronto comes true or Landry progresses into a better scorer and reliable defensive player, I can see Morey letting Scola walk. But honestly, not many PFs that will be available next season to are worth more then Scola.

Lowry, I believe there will be some interest in him, but not enough for us to break the bank. Lowry isn't a small defensive point guard is not THAT high on people's radar. I am also expecting Morey to play it close to the vest as he might trade either Brooks or Lowry depending on how the season goes and what is out there. But with Budinger developing, Ariza locked up for a while and Landry showing potential, really the only place for real growth might be at the point guard and center positions.

But I doubt we will ever trade Yao on purpose.

If Morey is basketball's answer to baseball's money-ball philosophy, just like Von and Gortat, he calculates the value the player has and DOES NOT budge from that. So if Lowry,Scola and (to some extent) McGrady...get offered more money than the value that Morey has put on them, they will not be back. Pretty simple...

Charlie V recieved 5 years $35mil, Paul Milsapp recieved 4 years $36mil. And that is in a year where there was very little teams with cap space.

If you are only willing pay Scola $30mil then he is GONE 100%.

Can't really do much with Yao. He's out for the year; he's not even trade bait cause he's not expiring. If we're going to do anything with Yao, it'll be next season.
