So the goal is a wait til next year ?

Thats the motto of moreys entire tenure here but yet hes given an annual pass and this time on the heels of a championship aspiring roster and year with a pop warner coach. Moreys an idiot and whomever backs him is an idiot as well.

It's called being realistic. If you're still hitching your wagon to the hope that we land Durant this summer then you're continuing to live in the land of the delusional.

I'm not believing that this team will be 76ers-horrific. Even if we made small signings this summer (i.e. a bunch of 2-year/2nd year team/player option deals) I still think this team will be a 45-win team.

The problem is we have a lot of delusionals who have drank all flavors of the Mauri kool aid. One thing I will credit Murray with. For a mediocre GM he has done a great PR job of fooling the casual fan and making them think he has a vision and has done an exemplary job. LOL

It's always next year and when next year comes it's the next year and so on.

J.C. Almighty, why is it always feast or famine? "If we don't get KD, which we won't, we can aim for your Jared Dudleys and win 45 games."

O ye of extreeeeeeemely little faith.

We won 41 games last season. The roster we have right now(assuming free agent departures) is worse than the one that finished with a .500 record. Sure, D'Antoni's a better coach than JB(who isn't?), but he's not a miracle worker.

If we miss out on all the big name free agents, what's left out there? Overpaying for the likes of Ryan Anderson or Harrison Barnes? That won't improve the team that much. Maybe they can finish with between 45-50 wins, but that equals a lower seed and a first round knockout in the West.

You don't have to call that "famine" if you don't want, but as a long-suffering fan during Les' tenure, it just extends the misery of 2 decades with almost no playoff success.

    I am pretty realistic.

Morey is the GM, this team is fully his work. It is his job to make the right decision. So it is either Morey agrees with Les or Morey did not show Les enough info to convince Les. Bottom line, Morey did not get his job done. There is no excuse to blame on anyone else at this point.

"tanking" is not the only way to get a good lotto pick. Trade can make that happen too.

This I agree with. It's the one reason I feel sympathy for Morey in all of this. Les has no idea how to build a contender. He wants to sign or trade his way to a title, and with a few extremely rare exceptions, that doesn't work. Even the teams that did do that in the last 15-20 years(Celtics, Lakers, Heat) had at least one season in the lottery leading up to their turnaround.

I think eventually a lottery team will be forced on him by reality. If they have another mediocre season because of a lack of talent, Harden will want out. And they'll be forced to trade him since they can't risk losing him for nothing. At that point, they'll be lottery-bound no matter how much Les protests.

Why is it always this? Look at how Morey operated the past few summers and see why it's feast or famine. He aims for the elites and pretty much disregards the rest.

Isn't that what happens to 29 teams every year?

He doesn't "disregard" the rest, he's just operating under different circumstances. That's too much of an absolute statement to have any weight.

I appreciate the fact that you'll come into a thread I created to call me an idiot when the easiest thing to do is just to avoid or put me on ignore.

Put that loser on ignore, it'll make the BBS easier to read. He's not a rockets fan, just some Harden fan boy that comes into threads with one liners.

I'm sure more than half of the teams in the league have fan posts like this about their team. Hope. Hope for next season. Hope for next summer. Hope for next owner. Love it.

I didn't call you an idiot, you quoted the wrong thing. I actually told you put forth a great analysis earlier, may have even replied you.

I am a true rockets fan and prefer context and logic over emotions.

A put forth more than one liners, you just respond once then you run away as I stick around.
