I always felt from the information I have read this offseason and the moves Morey has made that they never gave up this season and hoped that Yao would make a late return while McGrady leads them to playoff contention during the season.
it's too early to make any predictions now, has he even begun rehab? id say by december or january we should know where he is at and be able to make a more informed decision on whether he will return later in the season, whatever is best for yao is what needs to be done, dont break another leg just to win one playoff series only to be out forever
