I always felt from the information I have read this offseason and the moves Morey has made that they never gave up this season and hoped that Yao would make a late return while McGrady leads them to playoff contention during the season.

it's too early to make any predictions now, has he even begun rehab? id say by december or january we should know where he is at and be able to make a more informed decision on whether he will return later in the season, whatever is best for yao is what needs to be done, dont break another leg just to win one playoff series only to be out forever

Responding to an ESPN.com story quoting Morey saying Yao is progressing well and has not been ruled out to play next season, Morey cited his and Rockets doctors' comments after Yao's July 17 announcement that he had chosen to have the surgery.

“The only thing new is that nothing has gone wrong,” Morey said. “Everything looked fine. Otherwise it's all the same stuff we've been saying, which is he is not ruled out for this year, although it is unlikely that he would come back and play. There's nothing new.”[/rquoter]

Any idea what season ticket sales are looking like this year for the Toyota center? Do the prices drop when superstars get injured?

Excellent, maybe we can find Yao's REAL 2nd option sooner than later. :D
