I don't know, I mean Garnett only won MVP, averaged 24 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assist, 2 blocks and 2 steals to lead the TIMBERWOLVES to a 58 win and deep into the playoffs.

And I guess Billups winning finals MVP averaging 21 points and 5 rebounds had nothing to do with their victory over the lakers.

I don't know, I mean you just flip flopped and said

I myself believe Aaron Brooks has the potential to be a co-leader of this team. I'm only responding to the fact that you said Boston and Detroit did not have any big dogs, and then going on about how we have big dogs when only a few posts ago you implied we did not have any.

So you're saying that Brooks or Budinger will develop into an alpha dog next year?

If the team plays like their "lead dog" this years "lead dog" was Scola (IMO). This year was hardwork and heart and that is Scola. Really, what is a "lead dog"? Does being the best player or most paid make one the "lead dog" for their team?

Um yeah I do believe 9/10 teams expect there highest paid player to be the lead dog and yess he should be....

I think Bosh will cost to much for the benifit.

Id rather go after another legit starting C/PF in Al jefferson, Amare, Dirk at that cost, or go after a marc gasol, Lopez, Okafor, Lee, Camby or maybe Kaman as a mixer at a lower cost.

Lower cost can be a Starter when Yaos recovering...backup when hes recovered or possibly a starting PF with Scola as backup. 3 way monster tandem of Yao/Scola/+(one of the above Lower cost). Hill=developer or extra foul guy.

Battier Portland has been wanting and Camby is on there team and has a home in Houston. ;) But depends on Cambys need in Portland.....which is determined by Prysbilla and Odens recovery.

Touche. That was a classic attention whoring thread that blew up in his face. The current thread has the same potential.

Creating a thread to discuss the Houston Rockets is what this place is for, if you don't like a thread or a poster, simply don't post.

Sheesh......that thread was about whether they had waited to long to make the deal, obviously they had not.....so, fricken what.....lol.

Lord help us, it is a basketball discussion board where people are discussing basketball and the Rockets...oh noes !!!!!!

Sure Asidd, I will also apologize for getting into it, my bad.

LMFAO, yup - just MVP's and NBA championships, no big deal in DaDakota land where the next Pete Maravich is only a second round draft pick away.

If AB and Bud are lead dogs, then the term lead dog means nothing. This league is built on guys like Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan, not Corey Maggette and Chris Kaman. Take the damn blinders off and look at other teams besides our own. Of course our guys look good to us, but there are actually plenty of guys on their level. The only guy we have that stands our at his position is Yao.

Morey himself said we need more talent to compete for a championship, at least one great player away. He's said he's constantly looking to improve the team. If that's not a damn good sign NOT to stand pat I don't know what is.

Honestly I hope that DaDakota's theory proves accurate.

All the scenario's I've seen us land Bosh are stupidly expensive and that is not even with us adding in the cost of the contract he will demand.

I'd rather trade up within the top 10 then try gambling on a guy that while talented, hasn't proven that he is the superstar he is hyped up to be or could carry a depleted team like we'd have if we did a sign & trade for him.

That sounds logical. I think he could really be angling towards a high draft pick and maybe even a sign and trade withanother player out of left field not named Bosh coming to Houston. Of course that might involve trading away our high draft pick we get for that player or someone young on our team thats very good.

I feel the same way and mentioned something similar in the NBA draft section,ie another experienced player instead of Bosh at a cheaper price.

Bosh will be very hard to obtain IMO. We need to strengthen our defense first. I don't agree with DD's view that all we need is a healthy Yao plus internal growth.

An eventually replacement for Yao will be needed. A star that can fit in for the future. I don't think Bosh is that man. If we could luck out with a big guy in a future draft,it would be great. I don't see Cousins or Favors being the solutions for us.

I would be ok with Bosh provided if he came without a high cost, but he needs a defender like a younger Deke or a younger Zo to succeed. A tall order indeed.

Wait you think a 26 yr old 24/11 pf is a gamble yet you want to trade for a draft pick that has a greater than 50% chance of being a role player or a bust?

Calm down. What the Pistons did was so rare (once n 30 years) that you can't hope to duplicate it. Championships are won with superstars, and one exception doesn't change that.

Superstars are fairly rare, out of this free agent class only :

Lebron & Wade would qualify to me....

I honestly think you need a Superstar that can create shots for themselves and others to win these days....

Because with the zone rules, dominant big men can be nuetralized much more easily....
