rockets were considered a "contender" by many (not by me), but they lose in the first round. that means big changes are coming in the offseason, maybe even before. one of the "positive" outcomes in losing in the first round with big expectations.

hopefully they realize dwight is turning 29 this december, and that they need to build a real contender around him, or trade him. u cant wait till his last 2 years to contend. it would be a huge waste of talent and capspace...20-25mil per season

    PG + Role Players

Could care less who is coaching the team if those aren't upgraded.

    Here's some news:

Morey never considered this team to be a contender this year. Morey's only goals were getting home court with a top 4 seed.

JVG would be perfect for this team. He'd force us to play great D and we would run a ton of pick and roll

I think we could have a really interesting offense. Not sure if JVG is the guy.

I hope he also set a goal for them to win a playoff series. Who cares if you get home court if all that happens is you lose in 6 games in the first round for the 2nd straight year?

Not sure if you are posting this in jest or if you think that makes everything ok and the season a success, or what.

I hope they trade Lin back to NY...i am sick of the Rockets' stupidity. I am sick of McFail for not having any clue on how to play defense. Look, this team don't need a coach and THEY STILL DO WELL ...just give the ball to Harden and Howard. So, we are better off with a coach that actually preach defense to the guy. I can guaranteed you a Jeff Van Gundy's team would not have stupid lapse like we did in resulting Lilliard wide open for 3. Trade Lin to New York so that i can follow a different team w/o a miserable coach.

The thing is not many people were thinking the team was going to hoist the trophy in year one of Harden/Howard but people can't be satisfied with not getting any further than last year so this year is a failure and Morey has some part in this failure. This off season and the decisions he makes are going to be crucial.

No doubt. This offseason will either get him fired or get him a raise.

This season he had to deal with being cash strapped. He won't have that excuse this summer.

Rick Carlisle is criminally underrated and underappreciated. Second best coach in the NBA.
