I think the article was a little misleading. Morey doesn't rely on the game for analysis. It's a piece, and I expect a very small, piece of the tools the Rockets use. The use of Synergy is far more prevalent, as seen by the 25 NBA teams that use it. Colleges and international teams are now signing on for the service. Synergy partnered with EA Sports to allow its data to be used in the game, which enhances the game's appeal to consumers. The Rockets have a plethora of guys crunching numbers for them. I know of three guys for sure that consult for them. One is fairly well known, Ken Pomeroy, who writes for Basketball Prospectus and still has his ratings page at www.kenpom.com. He also consults for Baylor; at least he did last season. I haven't talked with him in a while to see if he is back again this year.
Guys, let's be real now, this is just a way for Morey to screw around while in the office............ "Les, you can't fire me, really I am working, just give me a few more minutes and I'll be in the meeting.................... I'm determined to find someone who will accept a trade for Rafer...."
they should add a party and clubbing mode and give each player addiction tendencies, personalities, and mental case factors. make it so that if you piss off certain players in games, like heckling or elbowing them, they perform better or worse. then add a kobe option with girls coming into your hotel room and whether or not you want to rape them. kinda like GTA meets Sims meets NBA Live.
He doesn't play the F'n game. NBA Live gets nightly updates of scouting info that all GMs get. Live actually gets the info faster than GMs get it so you can review the info alot faster that way. It is actually really cool. You can see which player is trending upwards, which player is better on the low block turning right to the basket, etc.
