Redick had 2"-3" on Jimmer and was a true SG. Even then, I still thought Redick was taken too high at #11. Jimmer is a 6'2" tweener. I like the guy, but it would be a mistake for an NBA team to use a lottery pick on him. Of course, if the Rockets do, I hope to hell I'm wrong.
Undersized and not very athletic? Check Plays is a garbage conference? Check Has heart and hustle? Check. Sounds like a guy Morey would go after
I'm sure someone will grab him in the early to late 20s. I remember Hayward wasn't regarded anywhere near a lotto pick until the tourney and even then most thought staying another year would be best. Guy can do something not many young NBA players can do...shoot and that will get him drafted in the 1st. With teams trying to get out of the 1st round, I wouldn't be surprised if a Miami or New Orleans who need shooters takes him late.
Exactly, Steve was a high second round pick and this kid is a better player so I'd imagine some contender with a spot on their team to develop a shooter will take a shot with him much like the Rockets took one with Novak.
Then the Clips. Then the Mavs. Shoot, the guy is out of the League. BTW: Compare Jimmer to Kevin Durant? The great Thunder forward is...5 months older than the short college guy.
For where he'll be drafted (20-30), he should be a good value. In fact I'd go so far as to say he'll be a better pro than Kemba Walker who looks to me to be a smaller crappier Ben Gordon. Jimmer will find a niche as an efficient backup SG and stick to it.
Naw. If he maximizes his talent, he will be a point guard. I wanna see more of his court vision and passing. I hope we check his ultimate success (sic) from afar. Seems a good guy, doubt he'll exceed Ammo's career. Well short of JJ's...
Bird was an interesting draft pick. Because Bird started at Indiana & then left college for a year before enrolling at Indiana State. His original college graduating class became eligible for the draft while he was a senior at Indiana State. Boston drafted him & waited for him to graduate the next year. I'd like for DM to do something simular & use a 2nd round pick on Robbie Hummel with Purdue. His original class graduates this year & he's been granted an extra year of eligibility so he's eligible for this year's draft, even though he hasn't declared for the draft. The only problem is will he fully recover from his ACL.
Im guessing you don't like Dirk or Nash either? Nash was at 15 in 96, if it wasn't lottery back then, it was REALLY close.
