In Morey we trust. RA, too. I'm sure this team will be kicking butt in 3 months, but all that means is another #14 pick, probably converting to the #10 Knicks pick. And, if we do any kind of revamping in the off-season, such as cutting Yao loose to get under the cap, we may be off to a slow start next year, too. I just hope Hill has reached most of his potential by the end of the season.
I think it is a given that some of these Rockets will not be around by the Feb. all-star break. I would like to see everybody who is older than 27 years old to be traded for picks or young players with some potential, including Yao if there is any takers.
On Sports Radio 610 Morey spoke about the difficulty of making a trade, that right now some 40-odd% of the league can't be traded. So the players and coaches essentially have to figure this out. I took from that quote the following: December 15, there'll be some wheeling, and, oh, yeah, there'll also be some dealing. IF there are trades worth making. But we have too many valuable parts and draft picks not to make some sort of roster moves.
Yea i think something big will go down after Dec 15th. Right now everybody seems in limbo. Morey discussed or mentioning 'trades' so you know something is coming. Be prepared folks i have a good feeling about this.
Perhaps the Rockets already have a deal in place, and are just waiting for the 15th, so the league will allow it?
I don't know anymore. I think Morey and all his numbers are overrated by this forum. Numbers tells the story of a player within a certain team under certain coaches and situations. In other words, it doesn't tell the whole story. There is a lot of non-quantifiable parts about sports that are totally unaccounted for, like morale, teamwork, fit (with teammates and coaches), balance, etc.
Ten games between now and the 15th. I think a lot will determine on how many of them the Rockets can win.
Deals that are usually agreed on, but have to be put on hold, almost always get leaked out. Maybe it's deliberate at times, but they come out one way or another....and there's at least two team front offices who have to stay quiet. Eventually someone opens their mouth.
our front office has always been good at keeping things close to the vest. Heck dallas did not even know Kevin Martin was on the market last year.
If he truly thinks a triple double is coming or Lowry has that potential, what will happen when AB returns?
If we got on a lengthy winning streak I bet he'd consider it. I really like the idea of putting AB in the Bobby Jackson role.
My Christmas wish for the Rockets---play Ish Smith more, and find a way to get Carl Landry back. Can you imagine Ish Smith passing to either Carl Landry or Jordan Hill? man!!!
Landry is an unrestricted free agent, if he wants to come back and the Rockets want him back they can simply sign him in the offseason without any compensation whatsoever. DD
