Is there some sort of injury curse on this team? Rafer and Shane have had solid injury-free careers up to this point, and now they need surgery? Even our new guys like Carl Landry caught the injury bug here.

This does show the amount of hard work and dedication that the guys on this team put forth. And these guys are playing injured! Thats amazing.

It's mostly just what Chronicle has.

I think the Rockets' medical staff isn't very good. I know they say all the teams use the same techniques and such but not all doctors are created equal, even if you're talking about high-paid types like pro sports teams employ.

whatever, tmac's injury is faked. or it is all because of tmac's lack of heart. look at kobe. he never gets to have any surgery because he has the heart and pratises a lot more....

i am waiting for such post. :D

Are we just talking about Keith Jones here? I'd trust him with my unborn babies' ankle sprains. He's been around longer than dogs could bite Kenny Thomas' or knee goblins could attack Brent Price.

Nah, its only something that looks like bad luck and is no ones fault. If ESPN didn't cover that awful story about Shaq and the trainers being the ones causing Shaq becomming old and ineffective, we wouldn't even be asking this question.

People get injured. It sucks. If the injuries were caused by a conditioning problem, then we might have a blame stick to swing. Bonzi was fat and got injured. Even then, I still wouldn't blame Keith Jones for his poor work ethic. We definitely can't say any of Raefer, T-Mac, Battier or Yao have conditioning problems. There's no blame bc of wrongdoings to be placed here.

This is what's so amazing about the Rockets play this season. The fact that our "walking wounded" can give a healthy Jazz team fits is just mind blowing! I realize that every NBA team has some injury issues this time of year, but it doesn't appear that any team is in the kind of situation the Rockets are in. Heart and desire are what's keeping the Rockets going. I am so proud of these guys. Just concerned what may still be in the tank after we survive a 7 game street brawl with the Jazz. But I'll never count the Rockets out!

This makes 90% of the board that said McGrady was lying look really bad right now...

Anyways, this team is playing with a lot of heart and guts, the biggest myth ever perpetrated about a player is that McGrady is 'soft'. He's been playing with nagging injuries throughout his tenure in Houston, including in the first year he was here when he went crazy on the Mavs, he had knee problems back then as well. People mix up having an injury prone body with being 'soft'...not nearly the same thing.

    We're Sparta...what a season!

Dang, I didn't think their injuries were that serious. All the more reason to be proud of them!

that is not what Morey said this morning, he said that they all will need medical attention and might require some form of minor surgery.

Certain guys always have a ready ex-scuse. Shaq is the starting center and captain of that squad. I can think of other 'charter' members...can't you?

Surgery might be a stretch. If Rafer's hamstring injury is serious to the point where he needs surgery, there's no way he would be playing right now. I think all teams that are in the playoffs right now are banged up to a certain degree. I still think Garnett's abdominal injury is continually effecting him. Hell, Kobe still got that finger injury.

I mean, when you go and put up the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA HISTORY, you're gonna get some battle scars and I applaud them for their efforts.

Several players need to be scoped? I could imagine Landry, maybe Jackson but who are the others? We all have to admit that the guys on the team are fighting to the end despite all the injuries.

Did he explicitly mention McGrady,Rafer, and Battier as the players who might require minor surgery? Did he mention any other players who will need medical attention or any procedures like arthroscopy?

Honestly, I think doctors are too darned anxious to cut when rehab and rest would heal injuries about the same.

Battier had his foot stepped on, how does that require surgery?

Rafer had a hamstring issue, how does that require surgery?

Tmac bruised his knee and reagravated the strain, how does that require surgery?

I hope they really take a hard look at REHAB over surgery, because sometimes surgery is NOT the only option.

Thought it was plainly evident McGrady's playing through pain. If you're truly pain free its hard to fake it, but when you have an injury its easy to embelish it a little for effect....Which McGrady might be prone to do, but there's something not there with his health.

It feels like the Rockets get a ton of injury problems with players whenever they get past 26 or so... Maybe it's in my head, maybe it's just some bad luck, but I do kinda have to wonder about the medical staff, even though that seems like a strange direction to point the finger.

How come the Suns can get Grant Hill to be productive taking a total body approach to balancing out weak and short muscles and the Rockets are perpetually stuck with injuries to the entire team? What is with our Trainers and Medical Staff?
