I think Morey was pissed at the refs, but needed to tweet he wasn't pissed about that to make sure he wouldn't get problems with the league and simply didn't want to be a douche like Mark Cuban who always complains.

Yeah, though there isn't an age young enough to go on the internet.. And i'm sure I would follow the team my daddy is the boss of..

It could be that he snapped because of the refs, but then upon reflection after the game, he realized what really made him mad was the Rockets' play, not the refs and that he was just channeling his anger the wrong way in the heat of the moment.

Wow, kind of nice to know the GM and I both have to scream at the game now and then. This isn't the first time we've heard reports of Morey investing some emotion in the team's performance. Just seems odd because he comes off as such a calm character on the radio. I'm a pretty calm dude too (smoke!) but the Rockets can occasionally bring out the worst in me.

The best part about seeing Morey at the game is that you get all excited like you're meeting a celebrity, but no one else cares (or knows who he is).

I love watching him react to every play in the 4th quarter, and then storm off before the game ends.

Not really, they are not related, you can get into a game, be passionate about it, then analyze it later.

Interesting that it was Gersson Rosas who DM "Hulk-Smashed" I have to admit I knew who he was but not really what he looked like.

It was clearly not an usher as the dude was wearing a nice suit not usher/security attire.

As for the refs part, rewatching the game last night on the FSN replay there really doesn't seem to be any particular play involving questionable officiating that happened in the few possessions before the 1:38 mark when Ridnour made the layup to put the Bucks up 91-89. Which is why gwatson and I begin speculating that knowing how much of a stats geek our GM is, it could have something minor to the common fan that nobody else would have even been aware up, like Battier's plus/minus being thrown out of whack or something. Who knows. :)

Regardless, it was kind of cool to see that our GM has a real passion for basketball and building a great team, and gets pissed with our execution just like the rest of us.

    GET R DONE!

Agreed. He's a fan just like us. And like a fan, will curse and scream like I usually do in the "game threads" in front of the computer or tv... A fan without emotion is not a fan...

The emotions one experiences during a game can and typically will impact their subsequent analysis. Obviously.

Perhaps this is why he puts so much value in the numbers. Without them, he has a difficult time seeing the game objectively.

Just before that transition layup, Brooks drove into the paint and there was a no call at the rim. Lots of contact. It looks like that is what set him off.

There was some contact, but it also looked like Aaron was stuck between 4 long arms and really had nowhere to go.

If you watch the game replay, you can clearly see in the background Morey getting up and walking down the aisle right after Ridnour hits the layup.

At that point we see him coming toward us and he looks righteously pissed.

Then he sees Gersson Rosas as he's heading into the tunnel. Drops a few family-unfriendly words, gives Gersson a nice little shove and storms off.

Now what he said was a little hard to make out. What we knew for sure is that he was clearly pissed at something in the game, and he may or may not have said the phrase "rigged". I did not hear him say it, but gwatson86 says he may have said it but he was not sure either.

Either way it was pretty awesome to see how he competitive he is. I know if I were involved with the team in any facet I would probably be stomping on kittens after every frustrating play or non-call.

What I know is that I would much rather have a guy with some fire in his belly who lives/breathes/eats/sleeps Rockets basketball running this team than a guy who is more "ho-hum" and I think its safe to say that Daryl Morey is certainly the previous.

it's not that hard to take a step back and analyze things objectively even if you are a supporter of a team. you are thinking about this waaaaay too much.

Don't overlook the PR aspect of this. DM became unhappy, took a cue from Wrestlemania (lol) and what... showed his ego?

Whatever happened to "a win is a win"?

It's sleight of hand, but I do fail to see how it helps us trading TMac. We are that desperate?
