You can't say that just looking at those stats. Who else was on the court with him? I'd wager those stats are more related to whether or not Harden was on the floor...although he did indeed not play well in the playoffs, so maybe it was largely him. What were the same stats during the last couple months of the regular season, when he was playing well (and healthy)?

That the team took fewer threes with him on the court is a good sign, is it not?

He didn’t write it, he produced it. But the most basic description of the play’s message is that heart matters more than numbers.

Need a Clint who can shoot. What about Horford?

No. Moreys been obsessed with playing small since Joey Dorsey. Even when Chuck Wagon was here he was playing small. I refuse to believe a GM with a offense named after him has a lack of power. Moreyball is trash

Agree to an extent. Morey definitely wanted a coach who pushed his tactics to the limit and this is threes, lay-ups and free throws. Taking the in-between game out all together is partly his doing. MDA eventually chose to embrace it and commit to it. That we didn't do it to this extreme before is simply because the coach did not fully commit to it, but how we've played since RoCo came is definitely what Morey envisioned. Just with better shooters and no Westbrook. And players having trouble understanding what? If your coach has you practice certain shots and sets over and over, you cannot just expect them to be "smarter".

Tilman pushed the Westbrook trade. Morey then had to remove Clint from the lineup as a second non shooter.

Moreys 65 win WCF 2018 team included a big.

    These are not secret concepts.

Your narrative is leading you against Morey but it's Tilman and Westbrook that put us where we are.

Look ANYONEs stats look great if you only look at the stats when they were playing great. Westbrook played great for a finite amount of time, but all the games count. The first 30 games of the season were probably the worst 30 of his entire career. Everything after the shutdown was nearly as bad.

Yes it’s a good thing we shoot less 3s with Westbrook on the floor. But it’s not good that the result is that our offense was over 10 points worse per 100 possessions with Westbrook on the floor.

I have listed the numbers several times over. The offensive numbers with Harden only were our best. They were worse when Westbrook shared the floor with him and they were terrible when Westbrook was out there without Harden.

And it really shouldn’t be that groundbreaking. Westbrook is an inefficient scoring guard with a turnover problem. It makes complete sense offenses would suffer when a player with that description gets to shoot a lot.

Small ball is for the birds unless you have great 3 pt shooters who can do more than shoot 3's. They double teamed Harden and basically stifled his percentages in the playoffs. None of our high paid starters were able to do enough without a center or surrounding cast of guys who just "shoot 3's" or pass back to Harden. Our rebounding and second chance points killed us.

Is it too much to expect them to be professionals? I know you want someone in the office to blame but at the end of the day the players are the ones taking the shots and making the decisions. It's there legacy on the line.

It's not that we shoot too many 3's. It's that we shoot too many theres that are not open or are just bad shots. Being a PRO, I know James Harden has not forgotten how to shoot mid range jumpers. Being the STAR even if he missed 20 mid range shots nothing is going to happen to him, NOTHING happens to Westbrick. I know James Harden hasn't forgotten how to cut or or get off floaters. It's his in games decision making at the end of the day not the coaches. Just like they make dumb ass decisions they need to get sick and tired and make the right ones, at the right moments. Our offense is efficient with Harden running it, but he needs to move back to SG to take some pressure off him and let Westbrook bring it up. Westbrook Iso's are the last thing we should be running.

Small ball is soooooo stupid in today’s nba. Morey should move on from this experiment. We barely beat OKC and had no chance with LA. That should warrant a change in my opinion.

Bam just the man I was waiting to show up. But yes... heart is a key but height does matter... if morey only believed in small ball he wouldn't have signed Dwert unless he was talking about genital sizes. Morey wants versatility instead of just sticks super glued in the paint. 3 > 2 and to him that's what matters!

I think Morey and all these small ball mf-ers should climb to the top of Everest as a team building exercise.

It helps when you have the best three point shooting backcourt of all time. They also had looney who is 6’10 so it’s not like they had a 6’5 tucker out there as their center. Yeah they also had a 7 footer in Durant and bogut in their first chip.
