GM's are human. You miss on guys it's part of life. By that logic every GM should be fired after every draft pick or signing that didn't go as planned.

Dragic is a better backup (backups benefit from a few traits that starters don't) pg than Lin and Lowry is sure as hell a better starting pg

He definitely knows how to manage a team. I mean the Lakers must be kicking themselves about not listening to Kobe and “shipping Bynum’s ass out” for a 40 year old Jason Kidd.

Morley should definitely be on the hot seat because Kobe say so.

    Yes the Knicks did.

Considering he went undrafted that means every GM passed on him. Funny thing is Lakers have needed a PG for the last few years and they also failed to draft him so I guess Kobe should fire his on GM.

Who cares what Kobe Bryant would do as an owner? What makes him an authority on how to run an NBA team?

Lin is only able to show what he can do because he now has a coach who doesn't really "coach". Lin fits in well: go be aggressive, kid. "What about defense?" "Uhhhh...defense," says Pringles, looking confused.

It's a shame we whiffed on him, to be sure, but now teams are gonna jump on the kid because NO ONE wants to be on the wrong side of a SportsCenter story. Remember when Yao came into the league (I'm not saying this is any sort of anti-Asian thing, so put that out of your mind). Yao was getting incredible press, everyone wanted to talk him up, so before each game, the opposing team's players would say, "I'm gonna dunk on him, I'm gonna put him in his place."

I wish Lin all the best EXCEPT for the fact he can keep screwing up the NY draft pick.

Here is a Laker great who actually has some credibility on this topic:

[rquoter]Jerry West: "To me, don't place blame. You give credit. The credit goes to Jeremy. A lot of things in sports are about blame. There's no blame here. It's just maybe some people didn't see what he had inside."[/rquoter]

Someone please point out one person who actually has experience in building an NBA team who is blasting the Warriors/Rockets for cutting Lin.

The Knicks were about to cut him for Mike James but a PG injury forced D'Antoni to play him, otherwise he would have been cut.

So yes, the Knicks didn't see his potential.

And certainly, people here aren't delusional enough to think Rudy Gay is on the same level as Durant. Next thing you know Mike Conley is on the same level as Westbrook.

I'm curious if Lin ever played a game against Kobe back at Golden State. If he did, it would mean Kobe should never try to be a GM after his playing days are over.

Kobe is officially a moron for making a comment like that! Noone would have predicted that Lin would be the player he is right now, that means his GM should be fired too. He needs to focus on his lakers getting back to the finals, oh wait that wont happen, so he'll be stuck on 5 championships LOL

the delusion is reaching epic proportions. Morey had him in camp: up close and personal and that in your mind is the same as other gms failing to see lin's potential three years prior? so the other gms are equally bad for not drafting him as morey is for having him in camp and then letting him walk? uumm okay

Oh but morey gets a pass because flynn's contract required that they trade away a potential all-star player.

I'm tired of repeating the same logic.

Nobody saw this coming. Did Morey see potential? Sure, but he didn't expect Lin to do what he did. Nobody did. We had Dragic and Lowry on our team, it makes no sense to keep Lin. Morey saw him as a good potential backup, but we already had 2 solid Pgs on our team.

And if Stern didn't veto the trade, Lin would be on the team.

I find it hilarious that you laugh at our gm for not seeing potential when your own gm gave away Lowry, for similar reasons. Except that the guy you traded away is better than your starter.

There's no delusion. What's the difference between letting him walk and not taking a look at him at all. The end result is nothing because they both don't have Jeremy Lin at the end.

there is no logic in letting talented players walk. the fact that you believe there is makes this delusional.

So by your logic your GM should be fired because he traded Lowry, who has had mvp mentions and all-star consideration?
