you made a key word here, IF Head had one good game and the rest bad including the game afterwards it was a blue moon game and other GMs know this too but then again its why your not a gm of another team if thats what your shooting for Ron Artest? Are you kidding me. He was broadcasting he wanted out. it made his price tag lower.
I like Luther, He does get bashed and for good reason sometimes. But the guy does have value, even if some around here don't see it, other teams do. Personally, I think Morey should hold out for a first round pick, he's worth that. You don't give away assets for free! I'd like to see Luther get moved, to a team where he'll recieve more P.T., keep Wafer and let Stevie get some minutes. or keep Luther and send Wafer packing, either way one has to go. ...and where's Deke!
Ultimately I don't think we trade Luther for talent potential in the form of picks. It's more likely a Bonzi Wells-type deal where we sacrifice talent in Head for salary flexibility and the ability to sign Deke. Because frankly even with T-Mac out Deke is of more use to us than Luther.
Again, you're a horrible, horrible businessman. In business, it doesn't matter what the actual asset is worth. The bottom line is the sale price. Even if an asset is actually worth $10, if I can put up a convincing sales pitch to get the other guy to buy it from me for $25, I have succeeded. If I dumped every asset at fair market value just because I "felt like" it was now worthless I'd be bankrupt before year's end. Luther has value. He is a deadly outside shooter, possesses a useful midrange game, and is capable of putting up 25 points and 5 assists on any night given the chance. That's what I pitch when I'm trying to trade him. I spent a 24th draft pick on him, and I want equal or better value for that in return.
What is Morey going to say? Of course he is saying that. You don't talk negatively about a player that is possibly on the trade market. You build value into the player. It's also good for Luther to hear Morey say that. Since TMac and Barry are down, we need Luther to play well. You can tell Luther is an emotionally fragile player (as evidence by his drastic ups and downs and that he has admitted to letting his shooting slumps bother him), so Morey giving him positive reinforcement in the media is a positive from every angle.
Who could have known? We still don't actually. Barry was playing with an injured thumb, so let's wait until he returns before we bury him.
Don't know why anyone is surprised. Luther Head would play very good for a whole lot of teams. Just not teams with championship aspirations...
Its obvious that he's just trying to build hype around Luther Head to build his value so we can include him in a good trade deal later on.
Oklahoma are the only team in the league who can use their TE on Head without heading into LT themselves. So far with regards to moves Morey has consistently mentioned cutting team salary. It's likely that no team is offering a TE for Head.
