http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2010/mockdraft The way the mockdraft looks now if the clippers past on him he could fall to us
All we need is for Jordan Hill to work on his footwork, and to get confidence in his mid-range J (I keep hearing he can knock those down, and would like to see him prove so). His FT stroke is nice.
They aren't even going to be available by our pick. They are projected around 5th. Rockets are drafting 8 picks later at 13.
Getting Rubio would be great, yes, so long as the impending lockout won't affect his decision to come here when the dust settles.
I say we trade up somewhere in the top 5. First option would be to go for Evan Turner. Second option is Wesley Johnson. Both of those guys have a great all around game and are very versatile. I'd actually rather have Turner than to go after Bosh.
They talk about all the bigs in this draft, but I am FAR from sold on Ariza. I think we could use a gritty Gerald Wallace type... Quincy Pondexter Stanley Robinson Damion James Should all be there around our draft position. If we can't trade up, I would take a long look at these guys...
Here's a the list of players that have declared so far to the 2010 NBA draft --->http://www.nbadraft.net/2010earlyentry (its constantly updated) --RB
Lets draft Xavier Henry & buy a late 1st rd and draft Daniel Orton.... Couldn't find any film of him from Kentucky but here are some High School Highlights!!! <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cnd9jx4NjLk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cnd9jx4NjLk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> 2010-11 Championship Line-up Brooks|Lowry Martin|Henry Ariza|Budinger Scola|Hill Yao|Orton
The reason you couldn't find any tape on him at Kentucky is because he just wasn't good in his one year there. His offensive game (see any post game whatsoever) was non-existent and his free throw shooting was borderline Ben Wallace-esque. I'll give you that he's a good rebounder and shot-blocker, but he also has a tendency to rack up fouls pretty quickly. He certainly has potential, given that he has the physical tools and seems to have a pretty good attitude, but he needs at least another year in school. Playing behind Cousins all year probably didn't help his development, because I really didn't see all that much growth from him this year either. Dude is a big time project and given the Rockets current lack of roster space/Jordan Hill looking like a player/potential for an offseason move, it's simply not worth it to draft such a work in the beginning of its process, so to speak.
Im a little iffy on Hassan. He seems to have the tools to be a star, but he doesn't have the work ethic to become a star. He seems like he is too frail and can break down at any minute.
Realistically (meaning no Wall or Turner or Cousins or Favors), my top list would proceed: 1. Udoh 2. Monroe 3. Whiteside 4. Aldrich 5. Henry
